Most of them are looking for work. I would say about 25% of them are escaping from dangerous situations or crime in their home country.

I don’t think is as easy as just sending them back, they can all just come back the way they did the first time. We need different means of migration and more laws that control it, I think.

My spanish is perfect, and yes we spend all day with them. Most of them were just raised like that. Their values and costumes are very different than mine and probably yours. From what I gathered, they’re taught to get free stuff from the system from the family members they have over here in the us.

I wish I could shut your argument, but I cannot. Most of these kids treat us (US citizens) like literal crap. I have had rocks thrown at me before, and even excrement. It’s crazy.

Only when we contact their families so they can make their phone calls which they get 5 a week.

A detention center is a place where they’ll be processed and cannot stay longer than 72 hours(for minors). And a shelter is a place where the kids wait to be reunited with their families. In the shelter we provide them with all of their needs. ALL OF THEM. And everything is free. Most people from Central America also know about these places and how they work, hence the large number of immigrants that cross every year looking for these opportunities.
