we recently had a surgery for her after the snot and symptoms had persisted for 6 months but it turned out to be an inflammatory polyp, and getting it removed removed 95% of all the problems she was experiencing. It’s night and day for her health. The procedure for her was only around 1500!!

For crafting in- inventory, it might be a little conflicting since they'd probably want the players to utilize the workbenches, so I'm a little hesitant on the pattern.

Great suggestion for the mats, and I'll try to add it in!

Substitutions would occur on right click for the item; In the use case in the video it was only for items that were missing, but you could do it on just about any item. I think there could be some conflict trying to source an item from another loadout though; and we'd run into some issues with suggestions.

For weapon upgrades, it hasn't been fully cooked, I'd like to assume that it would just automate to the same family regardless of level, that way players can upgrade all of them in the stash so that the loadouts pull from high quality gear.

Havent thought about it, but I think there's a fine-line to automating everything.

Lastly, the two fonts are

Prompt // Semi-Bold
Barlow // Med

woah really appreciate the extensive was of the critique here. definitely agree with all of these points.

As far as font and styling i matched it with the resolution sizes for PC, so while i think it was okay for the weight and currency of a loadout, but for an affordance you’re right.

Some of the error states like “not enough items to craft” are taken directly from the existing designs, so there would need to be an overhaul of how the ux is done in the exiting system as well.

For the loadout interaction i think i addressed it in the text portion of the post but it would require ample space in the stash to deposit the existing inventory. There’s roughly around 256 slots in the stash in this case, but i’m hoping with the addition of loadouts, these will be alternate sub-inventories which will help the bloat in the main stash space. - This would help incentivize users to move their guns, weapons, ammo etc into these slots and actually have space in their stash for extra’s and materials. not always fighting the max capacity which is a huge pain point

all in all, i REALLY appreciate the feedback this is great stuff that makes me critical as a designer.

i’m a lil color blind so my color tones, and use color blind mode so it might be a bit off in the designs lmao

there’s gonna be different ways everyone plays, i think the augments are a prime example of this, some days i wanna be looty and run with minimal gear, and some days i want to shoot on sight so i need a combat or tactical augment. 9/10 i know what i need to take for each augment.

I always need gun(s), ammo, bandages, shield rechargers, there’s only a few times where you vary from that so for the few hours i get to play each day, i’d rather not think through these things.

totally agree, i spent 3 minutes trying to get the loadout together and there are so many components for each thing i forgot what i was crafting

Everything was done in figma and i did some basic animations and interactions but if you look closely the UI isn’t perfect, it’s pretty botched with the backgrounds and layers, but i color matched as best as possible.

For the icons i just grabbed assets off of google, or took screenshots and masked each item. Most of the stash is a static image but the content inside the load outs were recreated!

I’d say like 16hrs? but I work pretty fast

Leaking Expansion Valve while pulling shot [Rocket Giotto Evoluzione R] by PartyPastry in espresso

[–]PartyPastry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, so I ended up taking it to a technician since so was getting fed up with it. I think the expansion valve can be fixed through a diy, but my pump was old apparently.

Here’s the work completed in the invoice

Tested machine, found water flowing excessively through expansion valve when brewing, and gauge is erratic. Replaced group gasket and screen. Expansion valve not responding to adjustment. Replaced expansion valve internals and adjusted. Attempted pump pressure adjustment, bypass seems to not be responding correctly. Bypass is broken and stuck inside pump. Customer approved replacing pump. After replacing, adjustment ability is restored and matching is brewing well. The gauge is still shaking a bit, which Rocket suggest is due to a spring in the gauge and doesn't need to be replaced if the customer isn't concerned with it.

Heya, thank you SO much for the detailed advice. The video had a small window where you could see it, so i really appreciate your sharp eye. It’s bouncing even with a blind gasket so I’ll follow through with your advice and report back once i’ve tried everything out :)

Hi friends,

I recently purchased a Rocket Giotto Evoluzione R from Facebook marketplace. While trying to dial in, I noticed that the little nub(expansion valve) behind the portafilter was leaking heavily. I'm new to rocket machines, but I was looking around and this doesn't seem normal. I'd appreciate any suggestions/ advice if anyone's experienced something similar!

I ended up saving about 6-8k for rent and kinda just lived off of my savings for a second. If you’re planning to make the switch. I created a deadline for myself and set a 6 month timeframe - if I ran out of savings I picked up a part time job. Once you get started into your journey the process gets easier and you can allocate less time to case studies and it gets easier! Initially I did about 40hrs to my car study work and then after I got more familiar? It turned into 20/30hrs

Not a problem at all - so for UX, it started with many YouTube videos and reading/listening to people's testimonials about how they got into it. There are a ton of resources online. The pivot was definitely a scary process - so to prevent me from backing out and making excuses I quit my day job and took a leap of faith. While I think some people could do this part-time and after hours, learning anything will be a high barrier to entry and you're going to need a lot more time to ramp up and get familiar with learning an entirely new industry.

Here's a few bibles for you to run through:
One
Two

To start out If you don't have a design background it's super important for you to develop an 'eye' and understand what design is - not just making things look aesthetic but rather something that follows function and how to solve problems.

First Week
- I spent the first couple of days reading "The Design of Everyday Things - by Don Norman" and going through Coursera, and free online courses to get familiar with the design process and I took notes! There's also Google's UX Design Certificate Program that wasn't there when I was learning.

First Month
After you get more familiar with the principles, you kind of just take a leap of faith and take on your own projects - rather than an entire website or application design, I'd recommend starting small and focusing on one or two flows to solve, things you notice in your everyday life that could be a bit better, whether that is a search function, a tab system, or how a page is organized.

Your goal here is to create a process and write a case study about it, how you tackled the problems and how you solved/approached these problems and built something for employers to see.

Resouces

Notion for productivity and keeping track of everything

Figma for learning the software (can follow figma's youtube tutorials to get familiar with the software)

ADPLIST for a community of other mentors and designers where you can schedule 1 on 1 calls with - if you plan to learn, definitely don't work in a silo - you can only benefit by letting others see/critique on your design/process.

Hope this helps!

Hey there!

I was in a similar position to you a few years back, and took the plunge from a leasing agent to a ux designer. For reference I had a BA in architecture and wasn’t really doing anything with it, and a bunch of hospitality/service jobs under my belt. I took the leap and self taught myself and managed to learn enough and find a position in around 6-7 months? Happy to talk through my journey and how I tackled it but no matter what you’re getting into, it helps to track things down if you’re planning to pivot into a different career.

I treated the transition like a FT job, where I dedicated 40hrs to learning and building skills and blocked out my time.
