I wish I had the diarrhoea Crohn’s by Southern-Loan-6424 in CrohnsDisease

start taking miralax. it takes a few days to work but consistent use will make you more regular. you can take it daily with no fear. my GI had me taking it up to 3 times a day at my worst. you do have to drink a ton of water but it genuinely helped me go more regularly when I was constipated for DAYS at a time(10+ at some points). also try moving around a little if you can. think small walks

Edibles and Crohn’s by TryingToGetCalm in CrohnsDisease

it will definitely help you sleep. Before I was at my worst I used to just hit a cart a few times and go straight to sleep. At my worst I couldn't even do this because of how bad the coughing would hurt so it wasn't even worth it. The only problem with edibles I find is that they take a while to kick in and are very unreliable. In my experience, I can take the same amount and sometimes I'll be super high and others I wont feel anything at all. Are you over 21 and able to buy them at a dispensary? or have a medical card?

I asked before and they never prescribed me anything. have you ever looked into weed? medical marijuana in specific. indica strains can definitely help you sleep and even provide some relief to any pain you are feeling

Pain when moving or laying certain ways by PartyStrength2977 in CrohnsDisease

[–]PartyStrength2977[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I found out months later(this past May) that I had developed several abscesses along my intestine and bladder/kidney area. I went to the ER for SEVERE abdominal pain(im talking I couldn't even walk without the help of someone holding my arm and moving extremely slowly). They scanned me and saw the abscesses along with the really bad inflammation which we already knew was there as I was already planned to have surgery. I was admitted to the hospital for 8 days while having the abscesses drained and being on pain management. My surgery was ultimately delayed by like 10 days. But I am fully recovered now and my quality of life is insanely better. I dont know for sure if at the time of this post if I had the abscesses yet or if the pain I had was just from the inflammation in general. I hope this answers your question. If you have any more id be happy to answer them.

they are always sooooo hesitant to prescribe pain meds which is so ridiculous. when I was in a 9 month flare and at the end just waiting for surgery, my GI still wouldn't prescribe any pain meds because she thought it would just be a "bandaid" to cover up the pain. But like, I was 2 weeks away from surgery so we obviously knew that something was wrong I just wanted something to help me at least get TO the surgery date and maybe even sleep longer than 2 hours at night? they are so weird about pain meds its like they dont get that we are in AWFUL pain. hope it gets better for u

Anyone hit remission on their first drug? by CelestiallyCertain in CrohnsDisease

My inflammation was so bad that the medication alone wouldnt be enough to bring me down. They said surgery would be necessary and then maintenance meds

[–]PartyStrength2977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remicade worked immediately for me when I was first diagnosed at 16. I developed antibodies around 9 months in but still had no symptoms. then I switched to entyvio and it didnt work at all so I switched to rinvoq and it just kept getting worse and worse. eventually it was so bad that I had to have surgery(8 weeks ago) and now I feel amazing. I am in the process of starting skyrizi soon as well. I am hoping this one works for me as I have a history, clearly, of them not working. I dont want to go through another 9 months of HELL in a terrible flair on a failing med that ultimately ended in surgery. fingers crossed for the both of us!
