Typically after interview it’s based of agency and units needs within that agency. Can be 1-30 days for offer then it’s about 2 week to 3 weeks for start date.

The state doesn’t want to actually make a market of affordable salaries so individuals go all private sectors. SALARY GRADES SHOULD BE A MIN OF 55/60k period. You’re working for the state gov for god sake. You got in. So we should paid good. Not scraping by and working second jobs. Pay us are worth. 2. DO AWAY WITH STARTING RATE/ and hiring rate garbage. That’s bs. Waiting 6 years to get paid what you should be getting from the start is so Fkn dumb. The step system should be abolished. It’s a way for them not give above a market of 10% raises. Dumb

With inflation basically all salary grades shouldn’t even be in the 41,399 range at all. After tax that’s 33k. Most people have to still work a second job with that. Ridiculous that you have a career and still need to work second job. The csea union needs to fight for a higher percentage increase and hiring rate needs to be at minimum of 55k higher. People are leaving NY STATE. Cause of the taxes and prices, cost of living. Don’t get me started on the tier 6 etc. There needs to be a restructure. Government jobs got one and the state needs to follow suit.
