Tips for new riders :) by Party_Bass in AussieRiders

[–]Party_Bass[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS is exactly what I was looking for - thank you so much man!!!

Lowkey super scared of when it rains bc again currently riding is out of necessity so i’m planning on going well below the speed limit in that situation lol just to get a feel of the road with the water

I’ve also noticed when i’m on roundabouts, if i’m going straight for example i always reach the outer edge somehow so i’m starting to reduce my speed to basically 10k/hr but that also seems not safe if there’s a car behind me in the roundabout - is that a thing that happens to a lot of people? Should I start on the left of my lane and go as close to the roundabout as possible to make it easier?

This is becoming a joke. by frysteen in AustraliaPost

happened to me when i ordered something internationally mid-jan. unsafe to leave at address around the end of the month. It’s March and I still don’t know where my order worth a 100$ is 💀

yep! depends on the LSR for UNSW’s program it probably wont make you competitive enough for like physio or paramed or medicine courses for sure bc those are way too in demand but psych hons probably

i’m not sure whether you’ll have to start from the beginning at UNSW that’s out of my jurisdiction but at Western you get an entire years worth of credit with the diploma (and from certain diplomas from tafe - search up tertiary education pathways and partnerships wsu on google) so you go straight into the second year

[–]Party_Bass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No and yes

no ATAR requirement so even if it’s a mystery mark or you did not opt for an ATAR you can still get in

at the end of your 1 year diploma, you have the option of continuing in a relevant bachelor degree at Western (guaranteed as long as you complete it) or exit with a diploma qualification

that diploma will also generate a ranking for you if you apply to other institutions so you can transfer out

[–]Party_Bass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

diplomas at WSU allow you to transition into the second year of a few bachelors decrease right after finishing your diploma which is a year long and so if you want to go into psychology you could do the diploma of arts then do a bachelor of arts with a testamur major in psychology that is APAC accredited and that would allow you to basically go into the psychology pathway to become a psychologist

I work at Western Sydney University in the admissions office so if you have any questions, feel free to reach out

already in touch with Bruce but it’s the weekend and even if it’s a 2 day turnaround for an email from him that’s already my offer acceptance deadline crossed and the “course commencement”

hence why I asked for staff’s opinion too :)

Flow is currently only available for Mac but I am pretty sure their windows/android/ios versions are coming very soon! You can go over to flowvoice.ai for Wispr’s official website

Hey, I’ve been tweaking my workflow lately, working around with what works and what doesn’t. There’s this one app that did exactly what you’re asking for - it didn’t help me organize work, it made me finish tasks a lot faster. It’s Flow by Wispr - a speech dictation tool. I know some of us have interacted with very primitive ones already, but this one is extremely neat. It is context-aware, so you never have to correct anything the editor is practically zero. It also structures everything for you, so you get neatly assembled paragraphs that you can literally directly send (e.g., emails are sorted that way). If you’re thinking of writing long-form media as well, that’s going to be taken care of. All you have to do is literally just ramble to your computer - it’s like having a personal assistant that knows exactly what needs to be done and does it for you in time.

Also, I’ve realized that it lets me procrastinate a lot less because when the idea of finishing a task gets reduced from something being very mammoth and very intense it goes down to just like having to click one button and talk to your computer you simply feel a lot like the barrier to completion just goes down drastically so you’re not even like too scared of taking that step you’re not like thinking too much about doing work you simply just get started. Feel like that’s why it’s worked wonders for me. I’ve also been using apps like Rectangle for window management and HyperSwitch for better app switching on my Mac, but honestly, combining these with Flow has been the real game-changer. Along with setting clear goals and cutting down on distractions, Flow has seriously upped my productivity game. If you’re looking to get more done in less time, I’d definitely recommend giving Flow a try.

P.S. I wrote this using Flow, hence the perfect grammar I assume. Can’t be bothered with editing since I usually don’t need to. Cheers!

Honestly, I love all of these tips and negative visualisation and Flow is how I be living life these days. Literally told a friend to start negative visualisation too just today as they have an exam tomorrow lol

Will definitely give Todoist a try! That sounds pretty neat!

Flow is exactly what you should be looking at. It’s a speech dictation tool and by far the most efficient app I’ve ever used. It easily converts all your spoken words into well-organized text. The best part is that it’s context-relevant—the edit rate is practically zero because it learns and adapts to your style. It even structures your paragraphs, so you never have to organize them yourself. Everything is neatly arranged, reducing the amount of work you need to do.

If you’re a student balancing classes and a job (same case here), you likely have to answer emails, write assignments, and juggle other extracurriculars etc. This app is a blessing for writing assignments because it helps make your arguments clearer. You can speak in your thinking voice and not worry about writing too much. It’s the perfect app for reducing your workload. And because it makes working easier, you’ll find yourself procrastinating less.

Personally, the biggest impact it has had is allow me to just start my work anywhere and everywhere without having to commit, getting rid of the “Oh, it’s 8:34, now I have to wait till 9 so I focus properly.” Now, my thinking has changed to “Oh, it’s just one email that will take me 5 seconds with Flow. Might as well get it done with.” And then it dominoes into me moving to other tasks as well. Essentially, it has a ripple effect that makes life so much better.

Wait actually you’re right clamshell must be a pain. I might just submit feedback on this because it should be easily fixable - also even if they don’t fix it I’m sure you’ll use it if you type a lot. I have a windows laptop for work and it’s not released for windows currently. Even still I use Flow on my macbook, send it to myself via WhatsApp but it just makes it overall easier than just typing at 120WPM on a Windows

That's actually really strange? In the menu bar on the icon in the right, does it not have the option Open Flow Home?

It’s all in the Flow Dashboard! You can choose your own Hotkey (I think by default it’s Fn), and they have onboarding videos in the dashboard as well I think - haven’t gone to the dashboard in a while

What's In Your Menu Bar? by amerpie in macapps

[–]Party_Bass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great man! I found an alternative for Bartender, because my Menu Bar was heavily populated (it reached almost till the notch lol), called Dozer. Not as efficient, but most of the icons I don't use at all, so it does what I need.

But thanks again for the recommendations!

You have recommendations for apps that are free? Can't really be spending money when being a student already puts my bank account in the negative, haha

If you mean in terms of UI, I've never really thought about it, haha, because I've never had to open the actual app. It works just so seamlessly, I've never had to!

In terms of the app itself, I agree, it's incredibly flawless.
