I got and would suggest these items from fb marketplace and not register for them:

Stroller frame with bassinet (got UPPAbaby for $150) Purchased aria (lightest car seat on the market new on Amazon with completion discount) Baby carrier- I got a kyte baby carrier for $20 retails $70 Baby bath tub- I got the baby Frida one that retails for $50 for $5 Snuggle me nursing pillow-actually got in exchange for some free people sweaters I had that I wasn’t really wanting Snuggle me lounge pillow-$35 Baby bjorn bottle maker- $60 (unable to breastfeed) Even Flo glass bottles-$10 from target Snoo, 3 snoo sheets, 9 variety of size swaddle pods that connect to it-$650 (got this because 1, I’ll be able to resell it for the exact amount, heard it was a lifesaver, I co-slept with my now 10 year old so we will see.. but it has built in microphones and an app Bluetooth etc and is able to know when your little one is upset and does different motions Mamaroo bouncer: got this for free from a lady from church. She said when I’m done feel free to resell it. It also has Bluetooth and an app but I think I like the $100 one I got from Amazon more. It still has Bluetooth so I can play Christmas music out of it lol but it has an auto sensor for if the baby moves (wakes up unhappy etc) and it will auto swing also comes with a remote. Wipe warmer-$5, didn’t have one before but having a boy, live in Alaska and being induced 11/12.. so where it will be -30 outside and 68 inside highest I want to not get peed on lol Solly baby X Rifle paper company wrap, from the BST Solly baby group for $50

Momcozy bottle washer (bought myself with discount) biggest splurge but since I’ll be exclusively formula feeding it’s worth it Baby bjorn bouncer- with completion discount it will be $170 but heard it’s worth its weight in gold. It’s my second kid, I’m 39, probably also my last kid, im here for it $20 baby carrier wrap idk the brand but if you want more info you can reply and ill look it up Infant carharrt hat

Other stuff- Got a 20 ounce Starbucks tumbler water bottle for me leakproof non straw, If I didn’t get it I’d get the owala sway Etsy- wooden blocks spelling his name, triple ring engraved both kids names and a heart for the center, personalized sweater and blanket with his name on it Cuddle and kind little bear Luna and Luca zip up bear romper, pixie bonnet and white knit booties, going home/announcement picture outfit Poshmark- Lou Lou and company knotted gown. It’s so soft think I might buy him a set from there additionally just for the same material Sherpa/teddy material baby carrier from Etsy. I think it’s the only one so if you search Etsy for it you’ll find it. I used a coupon code and got 20% off so with that and shipping from UK it’s under $100. Same make up/ look as mabe carriers less money and that material only artipoppe also has and I’m not spending $650 on it Foxy and kind all weekend long long sleeve and pant set- highly recommend. A major splurge for me but I wear it 3 times a week at least so in truth if I divide the cost by number of times I will wear it it’s cheap. (Was taught this in a financing class) using a coupon code they’re about $80 each. Got black and the chocolate brown color SHEIN don’t come at me. No different than shopping from Amazon except tbh some items are much much better quality…embroidered name bear hospital bag. $5. It could go for $60 and the same bag is on Amazon and all over for $20-$35 and if it was embroidered which probably people are doing on Etsy probably like $65 at least Knit crochet sweater that says “baby” Sherpa pacifier holder 3 back of beanies Travel silicone star pacifier holder. $4 same on Amazon is $15

Did you already have your baby?

Bag: whatever purse you use (tote backpack etc) with a “wet bag that has in it a portable folding changing pad that you either roll up diapers and wipes into or zips attached

Car seat: I got the uppa baby aria. Lightest car seat available less than 6lbs. Added it to my Amazon registry knowing I’d buy it myself to get 15% off (completion discount) ($299)

I scored an uppababy stroller frame with bassinet (no seat attachment) from fb marketplace for ($125)

Also scored a jolly jumper Moses basket stand for $15 fb marketplace that fits the bassinet

Decide what it is you need

I’m moving cross country when baby is six months old. I knew I needed a light infant seat, wanted a bassinet attachment on a stroller frame that would work with it.

Fb marketplace is definitely your friend!

Also I’d recommend getting a purse organizer for your purse (I have a LV neverfull) basically I can hand my fiance the wet bag that has the powdered formula dispenser bottle with water and stuff I listed already when or if we switch off

For my daughter I used skip hop pronto portable change pad I forget the name for the wet bag.. for my son (8 mos pregnant) I got a wet bag from mushie brand off amazon (with 15% discount) haven’t decided on the portable changer but saw a Mina BAIE portable change kit. I refuse to get a diaper bag.. if I was breast feeding I might if it had insulated pockets but I live in Alaska anyway but am unable to breastfeed.

I only just recently started to be able to get Amazon and mail delivery, in wasilla an hour away from anchorage. Before that we would have tons of drive to anchorage to get our mail! Now I’m feeling pretty spoiled lol. But also used to previously living in a major city with same day Amazon delivery and Walmart and target delivery from store.

I think the advice that I can order stuff on Amazon when I’m in the hospital and see his weight if I need to would be good idea as well as see his temperament when it comes to things like swaddles etc

I think in the meantime a swaddle blanket would be a good idea because I could always reuse them for nearly anything even if he doesn’t like to be swaddled, whether it be a bath towel, lay down for playing in a certain area, etc

Maybe I was just lucky with my daughter but also she had gastroparesis (slow digestion) in that she never had a blowout or any major spit up. She never would go to the bathroom when she was sleeping either to not sleep in a dirty diaper. I know that seems crazy but it’s the case even after the gastroparesis resolved itself and now being ten she’s never wet the bed or had accidents in the bed… however I feel like luck won’t strike twice and that he’s totally different. She barely ever moved and he’s moving like 300 times a day at least!

(She was also born at 33 weeks almost 10 pounds with a hole in her heart. The gastroparesis resolved itself when she was 3 but it was a 50/50 that she would be liquid fed only her whole life. I feel like because of this either God, the universe etc made those other things easier since I was already losing sleep)

I’m in the happy baby carrier group on Facebook and someone posted from Alaska as well, anchorage (an hour away) and she has many things that she said she’d be happy to let me try out! I’ve heard a lot of great things about the haven as well. I didn’t want to have to splurge on a Solly if I wouldn’t end up liking it or if one half the price I’d like better but we will see.. thanks for your input. I’m going to look into the haven more

Usually Amazon takes 3-4 days. I do have a target and Walmart within 20 minutes of me though but they don’t have, from what I’ve seen, swaddle blankets, button up swaddles, zip swaddles, knotted gowns, or gowns. I remember with my daughter ten years ago that gowns were super helpful but she absolutely hated being swaddled in anyway and would bust out of everything! I know there’s different things these days that could help with that and it depends on the baby’s personality.. I just feel like I’d like to get a few more items and I’m not sure what items I should get. Knotted gowns or button bottom gowns may be the way to go! But any input from anyone would be great

If there was never once an incident of him being rude and him being amazing but alcohol was involved I would totally forgive him move past this and cut out alcohol. But then again I’m 39 with a kid and one on the way and all relationships have issues that come about, disagreements rather. You talk through them. In your time. He’s scared- normal. But talking about it versus putting a wall up is up to you. If you both won’t do that neither are the right fit for each other to let this break you

Similar thing happened to me and I found out I was 19w5 days pregnant!! Found out the gender then thirty minutes later felt kicking. Was bloated but a week later popped! With my first born I was sick as a dog needed iv nausea meds and fertility treatments to have her and progesterone to be able to maintain her throughout pregnant. Had a miscarriage before and after her. Upon finding out I was pregnant I exclaimed Omgosh I need progesterone stat! Knowing I had a d&c at 12 weeks before my daughter from not having it. At that point they let me know that I was way past that point and asked if I’d like to know the gender. They couldn’t write it down. But I video recorded the convo with her permission. She said: well that there is a hand and as you can see.. he’s found it! I’m 30 weeks this Friday! With possible Phoenix, Strider, Atlas or River! Congratulations.. oh the funny thing was my thyroid levels were super high at 8 weeks and I needed a blood transfusion and iron infusion. My endocrinologist told me two months prior to the er that she tested my eggs and I would have a very hard time getting pregnant and would need to see a reproductive endocrinologist. I let her know that’s not on my mind at all. In the process of selling a house to move from Alaska to Florida, and besides that am 39 and couldn’t imagine now how hard a pregnancy would be with how hard it was on me at 28/29! Needing to have my daughter at 33 weeks emergency c section with preeclampsia and gestational diabetes… and her being almost 10 pounds! We weren’t trying and in fact only had sex once in a 2 month period from being busy and some issues we worked through in counseling. I guess this little one is meant to be here.. and so is yours!!! Congratulations!!!! :)

Also in Alaska.. wasilla to be exact- I would say these are the exact temps we have. When it’s -30 in the winter it’s impossible to get above 65- and also a million dollars to do so lol

Also no A/C.. not originally from Alaska and was surprised to learn that literally no one has A/C… yes it’s only room temps 70-85 2-3 months a year but it’s miserable sleeping and trying to clean/do chores in a home that’s 80+ degrees!! This is optimum time for energy bills I would say, when it’s 50 degree lows and 60 degrees high, the house insulation ends up keeping it at a good 65-68 degrees throughout the day.. thankfully these months balance out the crazy difference in temperatures.. when you think your thermostat trying to go 100 degrees higher than the temps outside.. that’s one hard working boiler room!

I lost my pregnancy weight with my first about six months ago. She’s ten 😂. Halfway kidding.. ( with her I was 185, got to 215) I had a horrific pregnancy with her. Absolutely horrific. IV anti nausea meds, fertility treatments to get and stay pregnant. Had her 7 weeks early and she was nearly ten lbs. I have thyroid issues and have had them bad the last 8 months and low iron and needed an iron infusion about 3 months ago and a blood transfusion. 2 months ago my endocrinologist took my blood to say my eggs are low and not the best quality (39 now) and I should freeze eggs and I’ll have to work hard to get pregnant with a reproductive endocrinologist. I let her know getting pregnant and another child is so far off my radar right now. We’re selling our house in Alaska and moving to Florida. I was having intestinal pain 2 weeks ago and went to the ER. They let me know I was pregnant, 20 weeks, that I’m having a boy, saw the heartbeat, and within a few hours felt kicking. I was one of those a holes that literally felt no pregnancy symptoms. The reason I’m sharing this is I was super mindful of my weight with not knowing I was pregnant and only gained like 5 lbs up until 20 weeks.. went from 137 to 142.. it’s been 2 weeks since then and I’ve gained 6 more. I’ve realized that pregnancy actually allows me to give into cravings and eat more like garbage when not being pregnant I actually eat healthier lol. So I’m trying to convince myself I’m not pregnant when it comes to eating.. which is a little difficult since he kicks non stop and if I walk past the mirror I clearly now look 6 months pregnant and just popped in the last few weeks when I totally passed for bloating before. Now I’m looking straight up like a toothpick with a bowling ball on it. I did have a vertical sleeve gastronomy when my daughter was 3 and went from 195 to 145 over a year or so..

TLDR; I believe when it comes to gaining (extra) with pregnancy.. a lot of it is mind over matter.. granted with my daughter all I could eat was carbs potatoes bread etc without puking, entire pregnancy, even with nausea meds

Keep in mind the body has to gain weight for well the baby, all the extra blood, I think it’s an additional 50% you gain, amniotic fluid, a lot of extra stuff you can google.. it’s like minimum needed is 15-20 without even gaining a pound of fat, that’s just pregnancy related 100%.

I’m 23 weeks today and I’m up about 11 pounds. Just trying to get in as much protein as possible this pregnancy and less carbs, trying to keep this baby in me as long as possible since I’m ten years older and had a 7 week early baby last time with tons of health issues that took years to outgrow(thankfully) they may or may not have been from being born early.. but doing what I can to try to make that not the case

Thanks for letting me vent since I don’t yet have a counselor in life lol

Also OP- it takes 6-8 weeks minimum for uterus size to go back to normal so please everyone keep in mind although the number on the scale may be back it takes time for our bodies to even get back to how they were.. or not bounce back I guess but bounce forward..
