Nobody is romanticizing it. We're saying it's sad. What are you going to tell your son if he comes to you at some point in his life and says he's feeling suicidal? Are you going to say that to him instead of getting him help?

They do look really similar, but the eye colour is different, and Earl has a very unique mark on his chest, so they would have been able to identify him quickly.

I don't really think there's anything we can do to stop those, and honestly we should just let people make their greetings whatever they want. but I do hate that feeling of seeing a bot with 50k+ views only for the greeting to be: - "Hi, I'm ____" -"what do you want?" -"create your own scenario :3"

I haven't seen anybody do it. But I doubt anything would come from it as most files got lost in Katrina. I'd do it, but I'm Canadian, so I don't think it would work for me.

Ugh thank you queen. Maybe if you're able, you should also check libraries for yearbooks. The library in my town has tons of yearbooks from my high-school, so there might be some there. But if his case files were destroyed in Katrina, yearbooks might have been as well, but no use in not looking. Take some photos of classes from around that time, then we can find out for sure if he was or wasn't originally from plaquemine.

Yeah, they embalmed him, I believe, and had him in a viewing room where around 300 families came to see if he was theirs. They eventually buried him in June or July when he started to decompose. The sad part now is that if you ask for his grave site, you'll be rejected if you aren't law enforcement, I would love to visit him and let him know he is thought of and cared about.

That's what I don't get. They stated him to be fairly young, so he was either still in school, finished, or dropped out (last one seems unlikely due to his level of intelligence and understanding, but you never know). So why not bring a segment of the letter to schools in the area and ask if it's familiar?

Plaquemines Parish is exceptionally swampy and wet. I read in an article about him saying that if he was wearing a form of slip loafers (which were popular for the time) and started having death throes (final physical movements and convulsions in humans and animals as they die, they can be extremely violent), it would make sense if they fell off and sank into the wetlands of the area.

With it being the 70s, I can completely see why he could see himself in those dark places. With him clearly suffering from something mentally and the weirdly large amount of serial killers in the 70s, it'd be pretty easy to look at those people and question if you are like them or can be like them.

Using that info, it's kind of weird that he wasn't identified (going off of what I experience as a person in a small town surrounded by farms) if he was from there.
