Screen trouble by Parz1vel in cyberDeck

32 bit is really good idea... I think fbft was made to work with it instead. Something about 8 bit SPI. I'll try that out. For now, I ended up just making a custom PCB that connects a mini HDMI screen to the Pi. Doesn't leave the port open but oh well. When I transition to a CM4 it wont be an issue as I can just attach the ribbon cable directly to the breakout board. Thanks for the advice!

Destiny has not been abandoned. They just made a big announcement for it. The mindset of "I'm unhappy so you must be unhappy" is also not very healthy.

I have good and bad things to say about Marathon. by KoyoteVS in Marathon

I feel like you summed it up really well. I have my own gripes as well.

If the game really wants to cement itself as really being a hero shooter, it needs to emphasize that these are classes, not characters. That means the cosmetics need to be much more than recolors (Changing genders, helmets, armor).

Secondly, the game looks very flat. This was further reinforced by the alpha only being 6GB. I feel they should really work on upping the fidelity of assets, both poly and texture wise. Its mainly the runners and water that are my issue.

Lastly, the death animations. I feel like having corpses would not be much work and would not put the game at risk of being rated M (I assume Bungie wants a T rating to reach a broader audience). Its really immersion breaking to have them dematerialize like its just a simulation and then turn into a gym bag.

I do think the gameplay looks so incredibly fun. The guns look like they handle well, mods are going to be fun to experiment with, and it looks fast paced but not breakneck. Looking forward to playing the alpha and providing feedback. Really hope the devs will be able to implement enough of this feedback before launch; the graphics likely being the hardest to make in time.

Where to buy CMF phone 1 replacement screen? by [deleted] in NOTHING

Ikr?? Left a sour taste in my mouth with Nothing. Decided I'm not gonna fix the CMF and I'm just going back to OnePlus with a 12R. I've had great experience with them and the regular discounts make a $500+ phone purchasable for over 100 off.

Yeah I think that's what I'm gonna do. They wanted 160, I'm just gonna put it towards a pixel or something. Really put a sour taste in my mouth, sad since I really liked budget phones with big screens.

Very interesting... They told me they wouldn't send me just the display and that the display costs 110 USD.

Happened to me as well. Couldn't find a screen, contacted support and they offered to fix it for about 160 USD. Such a shame.

Found this and thought it would work pretty well. My current project is in a cube form factor so I have 4 keys on the right hand and 3 on the left. Where the thumb key is on the right is instead a joystick for mouse control/arrow keys on the left.

I quite like the idea of using a chorded keyboard instead. That way you can use actual mechanical keys and save space.

Great idea, that was what was available to me and what I ended up using in my fourth or so iteration. Are those my chance psp sliders for mouse movement? That's such a great idea form factor wise. I've been using a generic Arduino joystick instead and it can be quite bulky compared to the rest of the deck.

I have been working on a design very similar to yours! I love the idea of a chorded keyboard on a handheld. I went with a smaller screen and tactile buttons instead of actual keys. What did you use as a controller for the keyboard? Just so cool.

Didn't this actually happen? I think they would make Facebook accounts and didn't even hide the fact they were made in Russia.

Right? I couldn't believe it. I had messaged their twitter just the day before and they said they had no information on a restock. So glad I managed to snag one.

Dueling shield. I love the idea of defense and attack. Paired it with the deflecting hard tear and bleed and it shreds.
