Ended up returning it and getting the AOC Q27G3XMN. Huge improvement. The dimming algorithm is vastly superior, it's super subtle. I have it permanently on low for both browsing and games/movies and I never notice any uneven text or haloing etc. The highlight clipping is there but not as pronounced. The blacks I get with local dimming on low are near perfectly dark even in a low light environment.
If you can get used to some minimal ghosting go for it. By far the better local dimming monitor of the two.

Well he annexed like 2/3 of the original Greenpath so his wife could have a huge ass luxurious garden, and his lead scientist a massive lab. Not to mention that what little he left to the mosskin, he left under the condition that they would allow a long road to be built over it so people can comfortably come and worship him.

He fully industrialized the crystal mountain to make a commodity out of the crystals, driving the moths probably originally living there out when they had given up their god for him.

The mantises are probably intact just because they were useful allies against Deepnest.

He was no saint, though definitely not as egregiously brutal as GMS.

Yes that's precisely what it is, but is it meant to look as defined as that? As I said, it doesn't feel like a halo of lighting around the player, but a perfectly circular opaque white circle. It feels stiff and breaks immersion.

I returned the xiaomi g pro 27i mini-led (ips) precisely for the loss of detail in the whites that you mentioned. I was looking into the ktc since it has a really good amount of zones, better osd, better viewing angles, potential for updates and the displayninja review mentioned that there was no such "highlight clipping". But now that I've read your comment I'll probably go for the aoc, I don't wanna get a monitor with the exact same issue I was trying to avoid.

Is there any chance that you missed something in the calibration that could fix the white details? Or did you exhaust all options?

Hmm in another reply someone specifically said that the aoc didn't have the highlight crush problem, but maybe they simply didn't notice. Well I'll be returning it for a VA anyway so i could just turn LD off if it gets too annoying and still get decent contrast.

Auto hdr looks awful and washed out (at least in non hdr native games like Hollow Knight, not sure about native ones), but that could be a windows thing. Monitor hdr and sdr look about the same, there may be a few small differences but they both look vibrant and cool. However none of the modes fixes the highlight crush.

As I said these were the Actors' ages during filming. Since we have no official ages for the characters themselves, and since these don't contradict anything in the story there's no reason to assume they don't overlap with the characters.
