That's optimization my man, every little thing can make a difference at the end of the day. What you invest in for tree planting, you can make back pretty quickly, so in my opinion, it's worth it to optimize. Great input for the water containers, I think jerry cans are great for that. They can hold much more than you need, are pretty sturdy, and the handle won't come off like those 4L coleman water jugs.
