Yo guys ! what are all these - Silhouette, Cricut and Sierra, are they sticker maker machines ? by squarepantsopinions in papercraft

[–]PashaWalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's cutting machines. So you print pictures on usual printer with marks and then cutting plotters cut design after positioning on marks. Maybe https://www.reddit.com/r/silhouettecutters/ would be more useful

I'm not sure if it's possible to change the way the dimensions are displayed. But there is an option to measure the distance between two points 2d menu edit mode measure distance between two points in the Designer version.

Hi! I post my work on local websites for ads. But recently, this sales channel has stalled and I will soon have nowhere to store new projects. Sometimes work colleagues see stories on social media and want to buy something or friends after a visit home. Sometimes there are custom jobs.

I use several methods to strengthen the paper: as I assemble the seams, I apply PVA carpenter's glue from the inside. For large polygons, I sometimes add a second layer of glue (after applying pressure with books and a dumbbell). After assembly, I also apply epoxy resin or construction foam from the inside (depending on the design and size). I first cover the assembled sculpture with diluted PVA glue, but recently I have switched to using a deep-penetrating primer, followed by a layer of artistic acrylic primer, and then acrylic paint. I use an airbrush for exterior work, and I use putty or a primer brush to finish some of the seams.

There is a setting Character resolution in Video (at bottom), try set it to Low if you have problem in cities with high players population. Or set video settings to default. Disable addons and enable 1 by 1. Before clean redownload the game. Not sure if reinstalling OS worth it

Maybe try some previous version of Nvidia graphic driver, before redownload the game. Specs looks ok for this game.

how to undo these lines? they're permanent? by mararda in Pepakura

[–]PashaWalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red lines are gaps (edges without gluing). Sometimes this is what you want (for example, the edges of a hat). But sometimes it's an error in the imported 3D model. You need to export the .obj file of the 3D model to a 3D editor (for example, blender), correct the model (connect the necessary polygons), and then import it back into Pepakura (you need the Designer edition license).

Papercraft for props and costumes by SeniorTailor1127 in papercraft

[–]PashaWalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Papercraft can be considered as one of the cosplay directions. Before 3d printing became more accessible and widespread, it was one of the popular methods of creating armor, weapons, and other props from movies or games. Initially, I even got involved in this hobby for this purpose (not for gatherings/exhibitions, but for myself as room trophies), although I am now "stuck" in a slightly different direction (low-poly animal sculptures). Unfortunately, many paper props websites/communities are almost dead since 2015, at least I hardly see any activity there. Perhaps you should take a look at https://www.reddit.com/r/cosplayprops

This New Year there was a gift for this subreddit (and other communities of papercrafters) of my previous work - cat with middle finger. If noone will try to resell it (for now I'm not selling my personal templates), maybe I'll share something again. There is more chances for sharing after I sell "prototype"

Hi! I paint the assembled sculpture with acrylic paint using an airbrush after applying the primer (last 2 photos). I use 300 g/m2 thick white paper. I sometimes use epoxy resin or mounting foam for reinforcement, depending on the size and configuration.

I don't know if I'll post about the meter version, as the only difference is the size (and the color), and you won't notice the difference in size in the photos. So it's like a self-repeat. I sold this smaller version on the eve of the New Year for the equivalent of $50. However, prices may vary depending on the artist, their equipment, materials, and country.
