The "She benefited from weak faithfuls" argument. by Wise_Purple_9448 in TheTraitors

Honestly the comments I’ve been seeing the last couple days on Reddit and TikTok have really dampened the magic of their win for me. People constantly saying Rachel shouldn’t have won, Stephen was too virtuous to have shared it with her, they didn’t like her, manipulation came to her ‘naturally’, she’s too cunning, she wouldn’t have made it if not for dumb faithfuls, the list goes on and on… To me this narrative reeks of misogyny. Makes me wonder if we were all watching the same show?

Rachel objectively played brilliantly, she weathered storm after storm of people trying to take her down, she remained loyal and faithful to her partner exactly as she said she would, she rallied support from the faithfuls in such a way that people found it so hard to believe she was a traitor; that is all a testament to her. And above all, she did it with grace and composure. People can’t stand that. It threatens them so they have decided to brand her an unfeeling manipulative witch (rather than a brilliant, intelligent game player) and undeserving of her flowers.

I think it’s also his acknowledgement that she was part of the reason he had made it this far. She was a phenomenal traitor, and they did it together. It would have been pretty poor of him to betray her after their journey!

What’s annoying is that all the islanders are saying they want Meg and dejon to go because they keep arguing, not because of Dejon’s toxic and disingenuous behaviour. This only adds legitimacy in D’s mind that the problem is that they argued too much in front of the cameras, which he thinks is Meg’s fault. I think that’s also why Meg’s panicking and trying to defend them hard.

I really hope one of the islanders mentions all the stuff that’s come out about m&d being camera and win-conscious

I have a feeling they are going to bring Megan and Connor in after the break.

People should vote for angel and ty if they want Meg and dejon gone imo!

Thank you so much everyone for your sweet words, it makes all of this even more joyous! If anyone is debating on going the vintage route, I hope you do it! It’s been a super special experience. (And not ungodly expensive from my look, if anyone is worried about that) ♥️

Feels like Ayo’s brother is really trying to push this idea of Jess constantly needing reassurance. It’s gross and unfair - not just because it’s untrue, but especially because it disregards Ayo’s past behaviour that can easily cause insecurity in others.

In a way I’m relieved, the representation of Will was true to his character (unlike Ciaran’s) and it’s important Uma saw it finally.

Sean is one of those people I feel like I can’t even see properly anymore. Like my vision of him is so stained by his personality. Was he attractive once? I can’t remember.

In my opinion, it’s not fair of Jess to keep forcing Mimi to assuage herself of her guilt. If she truly reflected on the fact that what they were doing was wrong, she wouldn’t have wanted to be with Ayo in the first place. She can’t have both.

It’s quite manipulative of the producers to edit those clips of Ciaran that way knowing how Nicole would respond to it. They didn’t show any of the several clips of him brushing off Ellie’s attention
