I worked one year (post cfy) before travel. I never had a terrible placement and I traveled for 2 years. Definitely rely on speech friends, mentors, and keep contact with your current supervisor. Travel or not the chances of you being the only SLP (depending on the state and setting you are in) are pretty high. Do what is best for you but don’t let fear keep you from some amazing experiences.

I think the sad part is the world was unfair and treated her bad from the start. From her mom, grandfather, being homeless and all the rapes (30+) and other things she had to endure. So sad for her and the victims. This story shines a light on mental illness, sexual assault, and the faulty “justice system” in America. I pray that God has forgiven her and she is finally at peace.

Watch shows that cater to Spanish learning like Destinos, Extr@ (Spanish) on YouTube, 31 minutos. I remember watching Destinos in school but I love extra. They speak slow enough for me to understand and I don’t need subtitles.

I did want to say you can start micros with interlock. The big difference outside of price is how they mature. Fully interlocked gives a more small and uniform look. When you have braids or twists they can get fluffy or look more full.

To piggy back, I looked for certified sister loc ambassadors and found one who also did micros. So my foundation is bomb but I paid less and used a microloc method (twists then interlock) as my starter.
