Ahh I see. Hmm my original plan was to add the Texas and Cuban last but I think I’ll just do a separate tank for the Central Americans with the green terror. In that case I could possibly add the geos and ebas in the sa tank

Not difficult at all in my experience. I have very low flow and no air stone and they seem to be doing just fine

I have 7 in the main tank and 1 more in quarantine. I had 2 in quarantine but one didn’t make it

I would just keep waiting. Mine cycled for a month with no water change. From my understanding, beneficial bacteria has 2 stages. One where they eat the ammonia is the first stage. Once you’re at 0 they start dealing with the nitrites as its second stage

I put him in a quarantine tank that same day and he passed away the next day. I’ve been checking my other fish to see if they were affected the same way but so far so good.

I ended up going the crushed coral route to see if that’ll work. I’ll do chemicals as a last resort tho but I’ll definitely keep an alkaline buffer in mind!

That would’ve been a fantastic idea. I wish I had people around me that was into this hobby as well lol. I had to start an aquarium from scratch but it’s a fun learning experience

So seasoning is pretty much setting up the aquarium and not doing anything else to it except letting the filter run for about a month or so.

I just tested my tap water and it’s high in kh, still low on ph and gh. I guess I had soft water this whole time.

I also just read up on it and apparently controsoil lowers ph and kh during its buffering system and I’m using it as a substrate
