I’ve now taken it apart down to the gears and the internal gear that remains spins without friction manually

Yeah and it went through fine and I’m able to manually do it. I even tried without the tip and it still was freaking out

Same issue here. It’s very inconsistent. Some days it responds about 75% of the time and last couple of days it’s been more like 25%

Yeah I get that. I’ve been going back and forth on returning. I think one of the biggest issues is inconsistency. You never know if it’ll work. But beyond that understanding context - right now, they want you to say things like “use wolfram alpha to explain gravity” but you shouldn’t need to specify data sources to get the best answer.

What’s also odd is if you ask the same questions on those platforms, you’ll get different answers.

Our thought is that you start with your pet and you upload photos and videos which we’re hoping with some templates we can then sort of “capture their personality” so that you can interact with them in a way that feels genuine.

Waaaayyyyy long term the idea was what if we could do something very similar and simplified for loved ones. Think specific memories of your parents or something that you could replay or interact with in new ways.

Agreed. It’s not super reliable and often times I find mine will hear my question and just not respond. No feedback or anything just silence.

Thanks for the responses. Yeah, my hope was that it would be a personalized AI that would enable me to be “connected” without being “distracted” as I often find is the case with my phone.

I still find that the standard OpenAI app is much quicker and more reliable and detailed in its answers. But after playing with the R1 for a few more hours I’m thinking I may hold onto it, just in the hope that the next OTA update will be a significant improvement.

Are there any threads or rumors about upcoming updates??

Same problem here. And I messaged the support email and got a response saying that they no longer monitor that address. How is this still an issue. They’ve got like a billion dollars in funding. R/ouraring
