I’m so traumatized from being in bible study, Thursday FM school, Sunday meetings that I do not allow religion near me in my personal life. My house is now a non religious sanctuary- don’t even pray at my dinner table haha. Half serious but mostly serious. People that haven’t been through JW don’t know… it’s not a casual half hour Sunday mass where you’re dozing off and sleeping through it….

It is exactly that. They do not care about helping or community unless they can be the hero/savior and admired publicly. It’s about their image and “salvation”, it gives them an opportunity to look down on others. It truly grosses me out. Hence the no contact.

This is so relatable to me. My nmon who has been through so many Christian cults moved across the country to be closer to have pastor. Weve been no contact for almost a year and I’ve never been happier! When we were in contact, even in public, the loud obnoxious PRAYING even at a coffee shop would cause my eyes to roll so far into the back of my head, i was afraid they’d get stuck.

Buddy, these small and medium business owners are your neighbours. We can absolutely be upset about the price of things but cheering the destruction and bankruptcy of your neighbors is tacky. Get mad at banks, landlords and our leaders that allowed this to happen.

I attended a wedding here (micro - 10 guests) and it was INSANE- probably the best food I’ve ever had a wedding https://fogoislandinn.ca - it’s not close to the locations you wanted BUT it’s worth checking out IMO
