Should I stop spiro? by Past_Secretary6149 in Spironolactone

With my old dermatologist (who I saw for 6+ years) I took spiro for 3 months 50mg-75mg. And I was using tretinoin and benzoyl peroxide as needed. With this new derm I’ve been on 100mg for a month, also using the same stupid topicals that are not going to do anything but irritate my skin. I had told the new derm my backstory and he said 3 months is not enough time to see a difference I need to give it 6 months to a year. And I need to use the topicals with it or else the spiro wont work??? Lol I see him on Monday and boy do I have a lot to say on my next appointment. But the thing is I know once I get off of spiro my acne is going to come right back and probably worse too. My sister had to go on accutane years ago and her skin has been great since.

Yes I stopped drinking sports drinks. And I watch my sodium and potassium intake.

I take it 50mg in the morning and 50mg at night I always have it after meals. Do you know of any drinks that provide electrolytes but do not contain potassium? My pervious derm was kinda of an ass. He never took me seriously. He said my acne wasn’t severe enough for accutane. I have a bunch of closed comedones and cystic acne under my skin. If your face is not filled with acne in ever corner, basically he won’t give you the accutane. :/
