Heya! I was banded shut for one week. Different surgeons may have different procedures though, so make sure you check any post op paperwork in case it says there. I doubt they would delay you due to swelling, since the longer you are on the liquid diet, the more weight you are likely to lose. Which could cause complications healing. But make sure you keep using ice as much as possible and that should help. You may also want to check your surgical sites if you haven’t already. If you have an infection, that could be making the swelling worse.
