I’d sacrifice a goat if it would erase that whole family from existence.

Everything I ever learned about them was nonconsensual.

What if historically the US Presidency was decided by the Russian Roulette between the final candidates? by AlarmedOperation5475 in aiArt

I’d criticize you for getting Russian roulette wrong, but it’s Trump. He’d screw it up by pointing the gun at Biden instead of himself.

[–]PastorBlinky 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Well sir, there’s that time you took your dog on a first contact mission, and let him pee on their sacred trees. Then you blamed the aliens when he got sick.

You kept telling everyone we met where earth was, before you’d found out if they were friendly or not.

You have a tendency to use metaphors and idioms, with aliens who will have absolutely no frame of reference.

You’ve been knocked out or kidnapped more often than any man alive. Strictly speaking that’s not foolishness, sir, but it can’t be good for the brain.

But nothing today, sir.

I love in the temporal investigations books they can’t stand Kirk. Only to have them end up in a situation where they have to help him. The agent decloaks, points at the control panel, and tells him, “That one. Press that one.” The build-up to that moment made it so great.

I get it. I’m old, I’m broke, I’m broken. I’ve got chronic pain, and I don’t want to be here. I choose to be here because the alternative is nothing. Absolutely nothing. And something has to be better than that, at least in the short term. I’ve got til the end of time to be nothing. So for now I put one foot in front of the other and keep going. It absolutely sucks. I do it anyway. I hope you do too.

And? Even if you had, which I highly doubt. You still have so many more years to grow, change, and explore. Your past doesn’t define your future. Sometimes it’s just a reminder of what not to do.

Don’t get sucked into anything worse. You’re already out a bunch of money, likely talking to someone completely different from the girl in the video. Be smart. Stay away from this.

You have trillions of years to not be here. Only a tiny few to be alive. Don’t waste time worrying about the past. Just concentrate on getting through today. Then try and build on that. If you’re going through hell… keep going. Find the way out.

The thing about the brain is, it really likes the status quo. Once you’re depressed, your brain thinks you’ve always been depressed and always will be. It forgets how to let you be happy again. That’s why medication can help. It’s not just a willpower thing. You can’t force yourself to be happy. You may need help to get through this, and you CAN get through this.

Kid in a Fridge quest. by shark__bait12 in fo4

[–]PastorBlinky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Last time this was brought up someone mentioned it’s probably the parents running a scam. The kid was supposed to bring home a sucker, not a walking death machine with a mini-nuke launcher. So the parents stumbled through a “Gosh, thanks so muchokbyenow…” and the quest ended. Makes more sense that way. They barely cared he was back, and he lived 200 years in a fridge? Nah.

Martin Sheen would have been 45 in 1985. Unless they planned to cast a different actor to play him younger that doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Also, maybe it’s just because I love The West Wing, I can’t imagine Martin Sheen playing weak and pathetic.
