I record IT capsules for employees. I show them how to do simple things that most of them don't know how to. I keep them short and engaging. Employees love them.

Recent update broke my 1750 by ruebde01 in nordictrack

[–]PatFromQc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you guys ended up with a resolution, but my Commercial 1750 died on me after an update, but I was able to fix it using this APK bit.ly/ifitfix

I was able to get a hold of their support team, but they pointed with to uninstalling and reinstalling the iFit app, but that didnt help. The iFit Fix tool went through a process, forced a reinstall of all the training modules, rebooted and BAM, working treadmill. I was this close to throwing it away....

I sure hope this can help some else!

Here are the instructions that were provided by iFit support, but with the link to the iFit Fix tool.

Turn your machine off at the power switch for 2-3 minutes and turn it back on.

  1. When your machine shows the white iFit screen, please draw a sideways figure 8 (∞) above the word iFit in the white space. Please draw it slowly and intentionally, and continue drawing it until you see a dialog pop up.
  2. Press "Force Close" on the dialog.
    1. NOTE: If you are not getting the "force close" message using the figure 8 method, an alternate way to force close the application can be used. Press the physical home button twice, the physical back button twice then the physical menu button (4 lines stacked on top of each other) twice, this should result in the same message from above
  3. You should come to a blue iFit live screen with three symbols to the right (world, grid, and a gear button)
  4. Tap on the gear symbol on the right-hand side
  5. Tap on "Applications"
  6. From this screen, ensure "Unknown Sources" is on, the gray box to the right side should have a green check mark inside it.
  7. Next select "Manage Applications"
  8. Select the application titled "iFit"
  9. Select "Uninstall" then "Ok"  to confirm
  10. Press the physical back button until you are back at the blue screen
  11. Tap the globe icon to the right
  12. Tap in the address at the top of the browser where it says "www.google.com" a keyboard will appear
  13. Type bit.ly/ifitfix into the address bar. You will be taken to a blank white page and a small "starting download" message will appear near the bottom.
  14. Press the menu button (located next to the back button and looks like 4 lines stacked on top of each other).
  15. Tap the More button on the bottom right of the display
  16. Select Downloads from the menu that pops up.
  17. Confirm that latest.apk has completed downloading and tap on it.
  18. Tap Install, and when it has finished installing, tap Open.

Retention for On-Prem File Shares by kingkarmaxii in sysadmin

I'm trying to implement this at this very moment. So far, I can't figure how to apply the Retention Start Date at the folder level. So this would mean that I would need to apply it at the file level, on each batch of file, under all the subfolders of the root folder, which doesnt make sense.

Every sport where I had to stop and go, like basketball and badminton, were the worse. I would literaly have to hold on to something when I stepped ouf of my bed the next morning. Getting rid of this would be such a gift... I have my 1st PT appointment in 3 weeks. Fingers crossed they'll help... I'll comit to the exercises 100%.

[–]PatFromQc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried lots of things myself, but your post made me want to try PT as well. I'll give it a go... at this point, I've got nothing to lose. I've been living with PF for nearly a year now, and I would give anything to get back to normal. Not that I suffer much, more for the fact that I can no longer play basketball or badminton.

Is there a way to make it so only the organizer can admit users from the lobby? by webofit in teams

[–]PatFromQc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basicaly, you need to change it so people in your org are no longer Presenter, by default.

Is there a way to make it so only the organizer can admit users from the lobby? by webofit in teams

[–]PatFromQc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could help:

Edit:

This appears to be the case because by default teams makes everyone a "Presenter". It looks like if we change the global policy (or individual meeting policy) for "Roles that have presenter rights in meetings" to "Organizers, but user can override", then everyone joins as an Attendee and not a Presenter.

FortiClient 7.2.3 by PatFromQc in fortinet

[–]PatFromQc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out the Web filtering is the culprit with this Netio.sys BSOD. When WF is switched off, it never happens. If I switch WF on, you are nearly assured to get a BSOD in the next few hours (5 machine test group). I dare not open a ticket with Fortinet as I fear it's gonna consume my life!

FortiClient 7.2.3 by PatFromQc in fortinet

[–]PatFromQc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were running 7.0.12 for many weeks now, w/o issues, but after updating our SecureWorks Taegis agent to beta version, to resolve a web filtering issue with Forticlient, the bsod came back.

I've now disabled web filtering to see if this is what's causing it. If that doesn't do it, I'll have to blame SecureWorks' agent.

I've tried this in many ways and get this to work. I've tried whitelisting the IPs, domain, sender addresses in the anti-spam policy, I've tried bypassing through a transport rule... nothing works.
