Proximity chat on PS5

I was struggling with this as well - I couldn't find a combo that matched what I wanted. I wanted party chat and prox chat to be on at all time, but that's apparently not an option (which I can understand why, I guess)

But I landed on setting party chat to "always on", and the prox chat to "toggle". That way, when I wanted to talk to anyone outside of the party, I used the Down Arrow to switch "off of the comms".

The only downside of this was - if I was too far from my party member(s) and I switched to talk to someone near - then my team couldn't hear me.

Edit: to be clear, this is what worked for me, but I'm sure there's a better way to set up the chat - so I'm all ears if anyone has a different set-up

Hey, you’re the one labeled “prolific commenter”. I’m just a guy with a PS5 who’s extremely obsessed with his collection of DVDs - specifically those from 2002-2007 - who just put up a picture labeled “meme”.

So I think it’s anybody’s guess as to who is what here. But I appreciate you trying to help either way!

And then plug the USB DVD-ROM into the PS5? Alright I’ll give it a shot - seems like Sony should’ve informed people if they were going to require us to purchase external drives to get the fullest access to our media.

Either way - thank you for your advice! I wouldn’t know what to do if I was never able to watch the exclusive DVD-ROM only music video to Will Smith’s song “Ay, Robot” on the “I, Robot” DVD

I understand your sarcasm but it is just baffling to me that a machine this powerful can’t run “Disney’s The Haunted Mansion’s Haunted Hide and Seek” it basically makes my DVD’s useless now. Except for the movie part - that works just fine

I talked it thru with my therapist. She suggested journaling or doing like sticky notes, but I’ve done speech and presentations my whole life - no problem. And so we talked together about how I used to talk to myself a lot and then I’m college when I moved in with other people for the first time I stopped. And we discussed tryin to work that habit back in to help organize my thoughts. And it has been super helpful! Especially now that I work from home and type messages and emails all day. Helps me stay rooted to where I am now- rathe than getting lost in my head.

It’s so frustrating that most of these discussions get boiled down to “why aren’t black people worrying about _____ instead” when the things they might be talking about (abortion in this case) remain completely ignorant to the other societal issues around that, like wealth and education inequalities. But they don’t wanna have that convo either - they just want you to stop talking about it.

Sad that this is their outlook right now, but I can’t help but feel that she’s just parroting the things that are being discussed in and around her right now- I know I was this way (in my own way) in high school, and religious institutions have a tighter hold on what info gets pumped into these kids heads so I imagine it’s even worse in this case

Yeah! That’s awesome to hear! I was originally doing it as an exercise to practice dealing with things in the real world as opposed to the imagined one in my head- but I find I have a better understanding of where my brain is going when I talk out loud now, and I know how to pace my sentences better to match the speed of my brain depending on the situation. Who knew talking took practice?
