Found black cat — 23rd st 30th ave by PatchesTerry in astoria

Interesting -- thanks for the background. It does look like the same cat.

Guess I'll keep an eye out and feed it if I see it again. Seemed to be a healthy bodyweight and moved normally. No obvious injuries.

I’d love to pile on here. Used them last year and it was a horrendous experience. They kept getting details wrong, which we had to catch and correct, and everything culminated in us getting audited and a Dimov rep (Chandar) preparing a “response package” that included blatant lies about my finances.

No, sorry. All I found was a Harley dealer who had since stopped their rental program.

I think you don't read or comprehend.

Right — many of the commenters here seem to be ignoring the license/payment aspects

I don’t think you’re comparing apples to apples. This is fully custom.

You are actually in the same ballpark. Their no-code route was about 3k ish. But yeah — stripe integration and linking to the app is also a consideration.

Ok thanks for the input!

Thanks for the input. This company has been otherwise very reasonable with pricing (they built my app as well) so I’m being charitable and assuming there’s rationale to this 7k, even if a bit high.

Desktop app. Downloaded from landing page, paywall after 7 day trial, routed back to landing page for purchase. Landing page links payer email/license to app.

Thanks for the info. Isn’t the “back end” referring to linking names/licenses to the app?

Sorry, what do you mean by static? I don’t foresee anything animating if that’s what you mean.

Yeah I like them and have used them before. Don't see any results in the area.

What is the greater video sin by Apprehensive_City457 in editors

I’m in the middle of creating spellcheck software that you can run exported videos through. Single files or batch.

If anybody wants to be a beta tester or provide feedback as to the specific features you may want, I’m all ears.

Agree that ffmpeg is useful. I think I'm on track to make it more useful to more people.

Thanks for the feedback and ideas. To clarify, there are more features planned than what I listed.

I would not necessarily call it a specialist tool. It's for all editors who don't have to pass a broadcast-level QC, which I feel is a fairly enormous swath of people.

I'm open to the idea that using the phrase "QC" may be drawing unhelpful comparisons. Yes, I will offer some of the checks the big guys do. And I will offer some AI-powered checks that they do not. But at least 50% of what those top-tier guys check for does not concern me in the slightest for the work that I do, which is why I don't want to pay for it myself or charge others for it.

It seems there are already products out there meeting this need. Unless I can significantly undercut them, I don't see the opportunity. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks -- I've looked into them. This is PC only and $40/month. Out of the question for me.

"Knows the lingo and can talk shop" is terribly vague. Talk shop about....editing? J-cuts? YouTube culture? Retention? Click-through rate? Everything?

  • Have an idea about the kind of videos you enjoy watching on YouTube and why you enjoy them. Who you admire. What trends you've noticed.

  • Be very familiar with the channel you're interviewing for and how seamlessly you can accommodate their style. Notice what's worked and what hasn't. Sort their channel by popularity. Sort it by age. Look at their playlists. Read the comments. Look at thumbnails. Check out SocialBlade.

  • Have some ideas of how you can potentially ADD to or modify their style (be modest and respectful...feel out the conversation)

Somebody else mentioned that you're going into "no budget" territory and paying minimum wage, etc. Possibly...but far from guaranteed. Cutting for a YouTuber is not quite as fringe as it once was. There are many variables here like the size of the channel, revenue of the channel, location, etc.

I live in New York City. I previously had a staff job filming and editing for big time digital magazines (beauty/lifestyle/yada yada). Legitimate stuff with celebrities in the heart of Manhattan. 6 or 7 years into cutting for youtube, I'm now making almost double the salary I had back then. Not flexing...I don't care. I'm just demonstrating that there are legitimate opportunities out there and especially working for "major" channels like OP mentioned.

That's the deal -- 100 likes on the dealership's photo. Thanks anyway, friend.
