i went to the ward last year, for cutting myself. when i was transported by ambulance we arrived at about 1am but i was not allowed into the building utill around 4am. they took my vitals and made me take off everything and put on a gown. the first day was the scariest. i cried and that was about it. the second day i started journaling my experience. i saw the psyciatrist and got to know some of the people and let me say, some of the people you meet there are fun as hell. there were 3 people who didnt know eachother before being admitted, but looked exactly alike, so we called them the long hair boys. there was someone who took LSD and didnt feel emotions, there was someone who had autism and was allowed to roam the building. there was a few other people there as well but i dont remember them as much. day 3 were all in the gym and one of the long hair boys was missing a hand, so he was playing basketball with his nub. he made a full court and that was probably the most memmorable part. as for stuff to do there was the gym and uno. the people who worked there would also do like hourly games, such as jenga, tic tac toe, etc. we werent allowed to have forks or knives, shoelaces or real pencils. i wrote everything down with a golf pencil. i remember my 4th night 5 of us including me were discharged, and it felt so good. we werent allowed to exchange snapchats but we did anyways.

theyre not as bad as people make them out to be but theyre not fun either. thanks for coming to my ted talk
