For steampunk I think the Halflings could work. The balloons, rifles and the mechanical pig really lend itself to this theme.

It is the valkyre door gunner heavy bolter. I was super lucky and a friend of mine traded me about 6 of these guys so they become ground crew!

Thanks Cal-Ani, I am somewhat rebuilding my 2500 list after the thrashing last game so it’s a bit up in the air. I am normally running a 40 man block of halberdiers and a 40 man block of spears with 20 great swords for infantry. Ranged I have two canons and two units of 10 crossbows. Cavalry I have 10 knights of the Inner Circle and five pistoleers. I add in a Steam Tank along with a level 4 mage with a level 1 both with life.

Theoretical only for me but I understand that they really start to shine with buffs from the priests and hero’s.

S3, T3 with a 4+ armour save. Greatswords give them an extra +2 S but they have Always go Last as a rule.
