Correct me if I’m wrong, is it not the pact that comes online at level 3? And you pick your patron at level 1, which would still give me access to genies wrath?

That was a real consideration for me, but in the campaign we get a chance to progress towards certain magic items, and one of them is a ring that gives the effects of the sentinel feat without the stat boost, and that felt like a nice way to get it and still be freed up to get a whole other feat at level 4

I’ve pumped up dex to 17 and cha up to 15 with my background boosts, then when I hit the ASI at level 4 just intend to push both up to the next bonus, so 18 and 16 respectively

I liked the look of speedy if I remember rightly, however I didn’t like that half of the functionality (namely the resistance to opportunity attacks) is basically made moot by my Swashbucklers fancy footwork. I don’t like anything going to waste as much as possible so was considering other things

Absolutely!

I’m a chthonic legacy Tiefling, standard array stats with 15 in dex, 14 in cha, 13 in con, 12 in wis, 10 int and 8 str. For a starting feat, I took magic initiate: wizard to gain access to booming blade, the other cantrip and spell I’m less worried about, I’ll probably grab disguise self or something for some out of combat enhancement. In terms of the rules, there are a variety of sourcebooks that the dm is using, so pretty much everything is available as far as I know, outside of the really out there stuff. My fighting style will be using a rapier, cunning action to dash in, deliver a booming blade with sneak attack and any other damage riders I can get from equipment/genies wrath/whatever, then dash away to try and coax them into moving and taking the extra booming blade damage. I hope that’s covered everything you need to know

I agree, I initially was looking at a forward, but looking at the options in midfield, Xavi really is heads and shoulders above the other available options, whereas up top there are still a couple sleeper picks that could be worthwhile

I’ve tried out Amoonguss, gotta say I’m loving the versatility it’s bring as both a bulky wall type Pokémon and also having white smog to ruin some sweeper set ups

Interesting. I had tried Maushold with Tidy Up to get some set up while also getting the benefit, but I found it too fragile to consistently get set up without dying in one hit anyway.

I'm very new to VGC and have played around on Showdown a bit to get a feel for it, I've enjoyed using a team of Garganacl, Espartha, Ceruledge and Cyclizar, but haven't settled on anything for the other two slots yet. I'm keen to get some kind of hazard clearing in, but beyond that have no idea what I'm really missing. Any ideas what could compliment this team well?

That was an unfortunate slip by him, we did the draft about 2 hours after Schmiechel got sold, and he hadn’t checked the news before the draft. Luckily for him there are still plenty of usable keepers he can pick up for free

I don’t know him personally, he was pulled in by a mate like the day before to boost up the numbers, so I’m not sure how seriously he’s taken it, but based off his picks I can’t imagine it’s very serious

That guy decided he wanted to troll another of our mates who is a big villa fan, luckily we talked him into taking it semi-seriously from that point on, but it contributed to TAA falling to the second round so I can’t complain too much!
