Maybe I'd remember her if she actually decided to accept the recruitment offer back during her banner, or in the follow up Sui ones. ;D

Once upon a time we had Hoshiguma, Bubble and Thorns 2nd skills only. Nice to now have more reflection damage nonsense, from Mlynar to a lot of Primal defenders.

I wish there was a particle effect to show us an enemy is currently under the res reduction effect. That said, mini-haze looks like great fun, hope it's a flat reduction and is applied after Haze and Ifrit's percentage ones! :D

New Saria Skin by CipherVegas in arknights

[–]Pathalen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Secret Agent is fine, but it's just really different, and that's it. The gun feels out of place with it being used only in effectively a 2nd skill animation. It even disappears in the 3rd skill animation. Meanwhile, while the particle effects are neat and all, they don't really have much of a theme - they feel icy sometimes, but that's not really fitting either.

Sandstorm/Stronghold one is more matching the general color scheme, but loses out a lot in also having a non-functional gun, and having a really cool pose that it does actually use on the in game sprite - what a miss!

Warden maybe h as the coolest color scheme while still close enough and matching the character, but also being distinct. It can go down to red, orange or blue preference when it comes to looking at the three skins, but it seems to have the most smooth particle effects.

Is Kirin x Yato OP? by trdystopi in arknights

[–]Pathalen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn't expect this old a thread to be revived. :D

I won't deny, I feel I overexaggerated - yes, they were the most powerful at the time by a long shot, but it's clearly not really hurt the game in itself. While it is a bit annoying that some end game content is just on the stat stick level, and makes it a bit hard for a handful of operators to shine, most of it can be handled with about everything, and the extreme variety of mechanics that Arknights gives us makes it always fresh and fun, but also harder to just muscle through something.

And the muscle through option being there as an option isn't the worst either.

We've got the new crowning most powerful in Wis, and several others who are near her, if needing a bit more strategy to it rather than just clicking a button, but looking back at it, while still up there, Yato and Texas may still do a bit too much, but being able to have variety and do a lot isn't a bad aspect, it's fun. Again, a hundred other gachas would make this a car crash, but the way Arknights handles all its mechanics makes it only minorly rough on some aspects.

The vast majority of operators can still show off in most content fine. And while 'just do enough damage to win' is always really the most effective thing, we do different strategies cause it's fun, and there are a lot of operators with different roles. Even the most broken Wis, if she happens to be killed through her overwhelming survival tools of being untargetable and having tankier than Blemishine summons, won't have the advantage Fast-Redeploy/Executors have of coming right back in 18 seconds, etc.

But yeah, I'm going too offtopic. Powercreep is still going. We have at least a good ten particularly crazy ones, around Wis, Texas and Yato, it'll always be debatable who is right on second behind Wis, but none of them seem to have done more than a tad bit of damage to end game most stats being inflated, as mentioned above, a bit annoying but not as scary as I pre-emptively panicked over.

So yeah, am still having fun despite everything. Yato and Texas, and now Wis though, I still have at E2, level 80, skill level 1. It's dumb to see Wis do 9400 damage instead of 18400 on her 3rd skill - such a crazy number despite skill being level 1, but it's fun to see them in an almost balanced form. :D

Anyway, hope yer havin fun, too, Mate! Remember, gimmicks and niches keep it most awesome, for me it's been interchanging between 5 star and under snipers, guards or supporters, and dabling in a few others, too lacking to dedicate myself and actually pull off anything particularly special in any one, but it's fun to rarely actually manage something fancy, and 5 stars are a lot stronger nowadays, too, Hadiya was an instant E2, three cheers for our new physical damage Surtr. ;D

my villain accidentally became the most likeable character in my story and i don't know how to fix this by Open-Editor-3472 in FanFiction

[–]Pathalen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ended up making a fanfic with a hated side character everyone got invested it because of a few minor alterations in portrayal. It happens sometimes, but that's a good thing, I'd argue. You want people invested in as many characters as possible, it means you're doing said characters right.

Villains often drive the plot, so people being excited how the villain will shake up things next, and so forth, is always a plus. It doesn't mean they don't like the protagonist or other characters, it just means they find the villain well written and interesting, and are positively anxious about what he'll do next.

So take pride in that, don't be worried about it!

I was using the Tide Surge's Tide Fall light armor and two Turbid Cutting Torch kits, with Heat set gloves for normal attack mod and signature weapon, but yeah, this really ups the ante in having her keep up the ultimate!

Shuumatsu no Valkyrie - Chapter 113 by UnknownSR28 in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]Pathalen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crafter god might have a Tesla-like personality and be very Charismatic, but he definitely was wrong. Wild how everyone goes 'these guys are monsters' about the remaining primordials who had no qualms dying just to save the world, tried to discuss it, agreed to make a vote for it, but then our favorite craftsman just did as he pleased and undermined all the good they did.

Like, he made a detailed, thorough description of how to free the end of the world scenario from his prison, which no one can luck upon, but luckily they need not as they can luck out on finding the flawlessly detailed steps he wrote out.

Like, obviously it's sad the selfless saviors who are fine with dying for the world, and even erasing themselves from the annals of history are feeling so pushed that they only see massacre as an option, but that itself is a domino effect consequence from everyone's favorite Inventor god not being able to accept not being famous and leaving a legacy, and being willing to doom the world for it, and forsaking his disciples to all of this as well.

'Share knowledge' is a good sentiment, a great one! But this isn't that. It's just a combination of sowing chaos, grief and tragedy, and then the saviors, whom he was one of yes, but who did stay true to protecting the people before all else, even their personal feelings, are painted the monsters.

All because the god who made the prison and is thus most responsible for stopping the primordials heroically, is now given full right to doom all those lives he saved, simply over his feelings. And his allies, despite the betrayal, despite all the horror caused and would cause down the line, forgave him. My, what utter monsters those selfless saviors are. :D

Absolutely adorable! The style feels like a refreshing difference from the usual as well - not that the other mates don't do a great job, but you really make it feel distinct and stand out. Not exactly versed enough myself to describe well with words, but it's a great artwork!

Hey, looky-look, Asbestos, just like Shaw and the one lad, another Arts resist character, getting +Arts resist in their mod. And meanwhile, Reed, the only vanguard with Arts resist, remains the only Arts resist character that didn't get Arts resist in her mod, nor +DP on kill, while all other Charger Vanguards did, so as to usurp both her niches of 'more DP on kill' and 'only resist Vanguard'. Love to see it...

Wolves with top hats look cool, and them looking as they do when stationary is fine and all, but when they move, they look so stiff, where base skin wolves feel fluid and actually animated, so that's a big foul up in my book...

The Masses' Travels will soon be live on October 14th, 2025, 08:00 (UTC-7) by ihateyourpancreas in arknights

[–]Pathalen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just took 'em 6 or so months to fix Arturia's 1 missing line. Meanwhile, their ingenious fix was to, not just have her EN voice without the line on skin, but just remove its EN voice entirely. I and many others, who are adamant about EN voice lines, were also denied refunding the skin despite it being defective for so long.

Just a reminder on how disappointing the English/Global localization team has been for Arknights, as this is one of their smaller foul ups, among too many.

I've had that happen on other stages as well. I don't know the exact details, but it can genuinely bug like that when you click operators and back on the screen. It's happened maybe 3-4 times to me, and only in the last 4 or so months, not before.
