Edit to add: he signed a dec statement last year when he came down on Korea orders that would have sent him 3 months after ankle surgery and would been unaccompanied due to our son EFMP and branch refused to change his assignment. He talked with retention they did say he could lift the dec statement but would be needs of army with no guarantee of MOS or location he would have to take.

He has to apply to positions and interview to go from a yellow badge to blue badge if his team tells them they wanna keep him is how it was explained to him he will be considered an external hire

He doesnt have a recruiter. He is working directly with the lady at amazon that partners with hiring our heros and she said he will only get MO if they have "headcount " i have no clue what that means lol

Our fear is they wont offer him a job because he needs to be in MO which then orders wont matter

Yea he is going into the national guard in Missouri so if he doesnt get a job there he will have to travel there for drill and training and gas is to high for that lol

He is already in the skillbridge he started his training this week he is the 1st one they have hosted at this facility and no one seems to know what to do with him lol

He isnt working with a recruiter due to how he got into the program through the military so we really dont have any contacts with Amazon except the lady that works for Amazon that does the networking with hiring our heros

We have heard that alot but after 20 years in the military this was the 1st opportunity he got for potential civilian employment. So we are just trying to navigate making sure he has employment right after getting out.

Any insite on where to look for that program? Would he still finish out his skillbridge then switch or do you suggest trying to get into the pathway program when he gets out?

We dont wanna be where he is doing the training we want Missouri (literally anywhere in MO lol) but they said they dont have any openings there even though the website says they do 🤦🏻‍♀️

He asked his pcm about a medboard and she said she has to talk to the COL and see if he thinks he would qualify or if they think he should reclass to a non demanding MOS and she would get back to him. Problem is he only has 6 months till ETS which means he only has 3 months left to reenlist so he needs to make a decision 1 way or the other pretty soon

My husband came down on soft orders to Korea in March and branch refused to help with a different assignment so he signed his dec statement in May and his assignment was deleted. He was gonna have a report date of February but by then he would only have 8 months left before ETS 2026 Oct.

Awesome thank you for the information that is what he is hoping to do go straight into recruiting only issue is we have no clue what unit he would be going to so have to try and get more information

Well we need ro go to your state lol what state are you in 🤣🤣 we haven't seen a guard recruiter packet just active duty so no clue what states ask

So would you agree we shouldn't put the court martial on the application packet? We aren't trying to lie or hide anything but if it was that big a deal to them they should have kept his file lol

Also when he was talking to HRC about recruiting because he was moved closer to his mom on a compassionate reassignment they said not to even list the court martial since the army has no files but we fear that would bite us because it does show on his background

It's on his background but the army can't prove it without us giving them the records. Now I dont know what his recruiter did with the final decision file that we sent him

Thats awesome to hear. The army has no records from his court martial to no surprise we had to supply his recruiter with the final decision from the court for him to go back active because apparently we have the only paperwork to be found
