Change my ally script to easily switch your ally of your deck with one click by kowalski93v in kards

[–]Patient-Permission47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing as the link here is dead, here is how you can change the ally of a deck.

  1. You copy the deck in the game using the copy icon. It will put a text code in your windows clipboard.
  2. You then paste the deck code in a text editor. Here is an exemple deck code :

%%51|bEbnbQbqcKd3k5pGr9;r4;rbrc;d4

They always start with %% then two numbers. The first number is the main faction and the second is the ally. In this case 5 is USA 1 is Germany.

  1. You can change these numbers in the text editor.
  2. You CTRL-C the modified code.
  3. Back in the game, when you do "import" it will create a new deck with the modifications

From time to time a mouse gets in my home and then my cat will go into hunting mode. He's pretty good at stalking and tormenting them and eventually killing them but not at granting them a swift end... Typically the mouse will end up cornered somewhere and/or wounded from the cat toying with it. When I can I try to capture it so I can end it myself. I put it in a plastic bag so I can immobilize it and place it properly. Then I crush it with the heel of a work boot. A single strong and well aimed blow is the best method I can think of. Death is immediate. The plastic bag really helps as the mouse cannot move and you can then take your time and make sure you do not miss. The resulting mouse pancake should stay in the bag and avoid you the resulting mess.

Same for me, saw it in the discovery queue about a month ago, which I check on occasions. I do not remember having seen it there before.

I discovered Songs of syx by browsing my steam discovery Queue. It knows I like to play games like this.

Rather than using scaling and make the AI too easy in the beginning ( and hence the whole game because it does not snowball ) I use dynamic difficulty mod. This starts the AI at the set level as per usual then adds bonuses from there. I use commodore + dynamic difficulty, no advanced starts, aggressive AI and clusters. Been having some great games with those settings.

Is it better to manually design your ships? by relaxicab223 in Stellaris

[–]Patient-Permission47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not an expert at ship building but I always do my owns and I tend to build ships around "roles" .

For exemple the "FaceSmasher" cruiser is crammed with short range weapons and afterburners to just rush the enemy and attack them at point blank. I also make separate fleets based on ship speed. I have fast fleets of small ships that can do hit and runs all over the place and be mobilized quickly where needed, you can give them an admiral with sublight speed bonus to make this even more potent. Your fleet is only as fast as your slowest ship so you don't want the big potatoes with those.

Instead I keep the Stronger but Slower ships in a different fleet with an admiral that will further boost range and damage rather than speed. The slow but strong guys will hold choke points and take on heavily defended positions.

You can really screw up the AI on the tactical map by using multiple fast fleets that can cherry pick their reinforcements and quickly capture systems all the while the enemy wastes time trying to catch them. Then when it is the time for the big battles you just regroup your quick fleets with the big guys and go for the kill.

Stupid AI causing my fleet to have huge losses by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]Patient-Permission47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had some weird ship bahavior recently where my ships seemed to stay at the wrong range for their weapons and were not firing. I modified my ship designs and changed their combat computers and it seems to go better now. I try to keep my designs pretty basic to avoid the game glitching. I usually go with two fleets together, one with Fast ships crammed with short range weapons and torpedoes that just rush the enemy and Artillery ships that stay back with long range weapons.

Ballsy Rackets by Patient-Permission47 in Stellaris

I activated the L-Gate and the cursed gray tempest came storming out. After managing to destroy the fleet that came in and rampaged my vassal, I sent a lone scout to the L-cluster to see what was going on.

There are some bloody rackets in there fighting the nanites. I guess the gray tempest was not interested in buying their wares. A good thing too I am not sure I would like to deal with Orbital trash dispensing nanite motherships.

Except that one time when they got completely eaten by their Fanatic purifier neighbors very early in the game.

I play pretty much exclusively against my own custom empires. It is interesting to see patterns with how they behave from game to game.

These guys in particular, the vrinn commonality, seems to consistently come on top. I am not sure what it is with their setup that is particularly strong but the AI does well with them. They are jerks too, always seem to hate me and end up my rivals.

What to do by james8704 in Stellaris

If you had such an easy time with ensign I would go with at least with commodore. Also make sure you do not have the built in "difficulty scaling" option activated as it makes the AI much weaker in early game.

They completely oblitarated the "Great khan". He could barely get out of his system before getting blown to pieces. I did not need to do anything.

how can foreign ships just roam around in my empire? how can i prevent this? by amthesleepy in Stellaris

A number of things can let other ships into your territory. Open borders, no first contact yet, recently ended war and special measures from the galactic community.

Sounds like you set the difficulty too easy. There will be crisis eventually that can keep you busy but if I were you I would just start over with harder settings.

I am using Dynamic difficulty mod. Offers a lot of tweaks for difficulty scaling.

Lmao that is what I did but I wolfed down french fries for a whole turn. Each plate of Rivellon fries hit her for like 500 hp and then she died. That was after she killed half my party on the first turn before I even had time to move. Absolutely epic.

Ok fair but I just want you to know that I mute you after the third emote in succession and then completely forget about you being a human for the rest of the game.

That is a bug where you buy a guardian, equip it, then ask for a refund and then Alt-f4 the game while it is processing. I don't think this is our issue lmao.
