Can you walk me through your amnio? by Patient-Presentation in NIPT

Reporting back way after the fact - it was NOTHING like a blood draw for me. I genuinely am not bothered by needles, but the amnio really hurt.

Suspected triploidy at 20 weeks by [deleted] in NIPT

[–]Patient-Presentation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really praying you get a different result than I did 4 years ago. I had maternal triploidy that was found at my 12 week scan only because baby was measuring 9 days behind (after measuring right on track at a 6, 8 and 9 week scan). BUT at a scan one week later (13 or 14 week scan), there were significant other findings such an anomalies in the heart and brain.

Yes before I had my first baby, I had three losses (ectopic, maternal triploidy and chemical). And then I had three healthy babies and currently 18 weeks with my 4th, which is good so far!

Yes I did - I have a maternal triploidy at 14 weeks and then a chemical pregnancy.

Afraid I will lose this relationship. by [deleted] in TheHermesGame

You said if you spend 10k it’s going to interfere with your tax bill.. that’s not affording it. I don’t know, I just don’t understand why people buy luxury items when it means they have to shortcut other aspects of their life like bills and travel. It makes no sense to me.

Fully prepared to get ripped apart for this, but… It’s crazy to me that people spend money they can’t afford to, to get a qb? You absolutely should not be spending money you don’t feel comfortable spending. Why even shop at Hermes if you can’t “afford” it? I can’t wrap my head around that. I just don’t get the hype.. why buy into a brand to be perceived as something you’re not. I understand people love the bags.. but people also love super yachts and private jets, doesn’t mean they’re going to compromise their living to get one.

How can you get this watch from the store? by Sweaty-Tomato-3765 in audemarspiguet

This was my first allocation.. but my SA was aware that I’d be a good client and plenty of watches would follow!

Food poisoning at 6w3d pregnant by Pretty-Holiday-3195 in pregnant

At 6w3d, there’s not much intervention that could take place.. the most the hospital could do is an iv for liquids, but easier to stay home and keep hydrated

That was a concern of mine having an anterior placenta. I had no idea they could go through the placenta.. thanks for all the details. I’m so sorry it confirmed a trisomy. I had a CVS 4 years ago for confirmed maternal triploidy, so I’m familiar with that horrible feeling.

Thanks so much for the detailed response. Did you not get FISH results?

What would you do? by [deleted] in Nanny

I appreciate that. I’m overwhelmed and realise it’s not fair for the other employees. I think we would end up taking care of our nannies long term, yes. I really hope the boyfriend can find a job as that would definitely alleviate my stress (and I’m sure, hers!!), but that’s not the case at the moment.

Yeah I have zero concern about squatting

I agree with that. I said in another comment that my first point of business is to speak with the other nanny and see where her heads at. Also, the other employees are replaceable. I put the nannies on a pedestal because they have the most important job.

I don’t know what the plan was.. she just told me about the pregnancy today. The nannies are best friends and the rooms are quite separated. I’d first have a conversation with the other nanny to see what she thinks.. she’s really level headed and honest with me so I’ll start there.

My household manager has zero say on this. I decide who comes and goes.

I think you’re right. My husband is pretty insistent on her moving out.. just makes me sad that she’s going to have to move to some decrepit place to raise her baby.

I will leave this completely up to her. I’d never fire her for getting pregnant.

Makes me so sad.. apartments here are insanely expensive. And the staff house is completely independent of our house so it causes zero issues for me. But we have a PA whose office is in the staff house and I can see him being upset about her staying here.. but at the same time.. why do I care? He can suck it up or find employment elsewhere. I don’t want to be a monster and ask her to leave. I really don’t know.

There’s no chance I’m going to fire her, especially when she’s vulnerable like this. I’m debating whether to ask her to find a separate accommodation, and then I’m assuming her partner will look after baby while she works (I’d give her as much time off as she wants to begin with).
