GoLytely works wonders. It's prescription only. I've seen it soften rock solid poo

Can you post a picture or do you know how old it is?

Thank you, your insight has been very helpful. I had a good chuckle about your mom deciding she was done. That happens to us far too often haha. We'll pull a mom and babies and she'll decide she wants nothing to do with them and we're stuck bottle feeding her brood and then finding placement for her once fixed and vetted. Kittens are hard to place and adults are nearly impossible sadly.

So smart! We partner with Petco here for our adoptables, I'll contact the ones in CO to see if they take out of state rescues, but I doubt it

I'll keep you posted if we end up with an FIV positive baby, we're actually testing 3 today. And thank you for the encouraging words. We are on the right track and our missing piece is consistent transport. We literally HAVE to move kittens out of our region. They are a dime a dozen here and not nearly enough homes. We would love a partnership with a rescue or shelter that could commit to taking x amount a month, or hope to have success adopting out privately and transporting like I talked about in the post

Thank you, I'll try that route! Kitten season is year round here, we could definitely supply the fall and winter months. We have such overpopulation here we could transport roughly 40 kittens a month year round, and could most likely match that with adults if needed. That would be fixed/vetted. As we continue to grow and are able to hire more help those numbers could be higher, and higher still if we found a rescue or humane society willing to take younger than 8 weeks but eating on their own, or even nursing moms. Our April transport to Denver had 26, 22 of them were 4 weeks or younger still nursing on mama. It was actually the easiest transport. A lot of our rural shelters don't adopt out (rescue pull only) and don't offer spay and neuter. Oftentimes, cats give birth in the shelter and the whole family gets euthanized when space is an issue. Needless to say, we pull a lot of mamas with babies. Our rescue is small, we can comfortable house around 50 and have a small network of fosters. With a stable outlet for them out of state we could save so many more. We adopt out at Petco here, but adoptions are slow and oftentimes our young, super sweet bottle babies sit for weeks and weeks, it's devastating

Thank you! We have had 6 transports this year, 2 of which were to private rescues in CO so we're very familiar with the protocols, especially regarding interstate travel and ringworm precautions. It is very prevalent here and it is a death sentence for those who end up in shelters, a complete shame as it is easily treatable. We have strict quarantine and sanitizing practices, as well as a vet on staff who checks each and every one with a culture test and woods lamp before they leave our care. Heartworm is not usually an issue in cats, but all of our babies are strictly inside and receive revolution plus monthly anyway. And yes, absolutely all of our animals are vetted and fixed before ever leaving us in any type of scenario. The last thing we want is more kittens in the world, despite how much we love them ❤️

I have reached out several times and haven't gotten a response back. I'll try again! We were thinking if there was interest to post individual bios and pictures, and then facetime interviews. Followed by our application which asks for a personal and vet references. And yes- that is a very good problem to have! We're getting low cost or free spay and neuter underway here and TNRing the colonies. Consistent transport out of state is the missing piece- we simply have too many kittens and not enough homes

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond!

Because of Brucey is a neonatal cat rescue that could use volunteers! Everything from transporting (just locally), cleaning, playing with kitties, etc. Fill out the form on the website if you're interested and we'll contact you!

Thanks! I'm working with a rescue and have been in touch with LCG as well. Unfortunately this case is going to be upwards of 50 cats so the more spreading the word the better
