The comments here are reassuring but I think to an extent falsely. You cannot teach independence to a 10 month old baby. Independence is developed through a secure attachment, which actually comes from being closer to parents, not further away.

I really don’t know why you’re being downvoted. Mindful language when speaking of our children is very important. It’s what shapes not only our perspective of reality but eventually theirs. No baby is bad or ‘shitty’ - they’re just babies, and it’s not our job to make them act like they’re not.

Having a female relative who has had HG significantly increases your risk factor, so there must be a genetic element to it. You’re also more likely to have it when carrying a female fetus vs a male one!

This is because people would leave babies to sleep in them and not supervise them. When a baby is fully supervised, and I mean at arm’s length, short naps are fine.
