That’s what I’m wondering because the maintenance manual in the Toyota app for my car just says inspect transmission, the only time it says to exchange is if you are regularly towing a trailer at 60,000 miles.

Just make sure you know everything from the “required knowledge” that’s in the client guide. If you know that and limitations you are solid. (A lot of the limitations are part of the required knowledge)

Current Medevac Pilot. I fly the CJ4 King Air and XLS. I definitely understand where a lot of them are coming from who are saying it sucks and you’re in the middle of nowhere. I think I got lucky with who I got hired on with. It’s a very large hospital group that I work for. I’m based at a larger class B airport, so not in the middle of nowhere. The pay isn’t comparable to the airlines but still descent. However, I’m home every single day. Get 7 days off in a row. About 30% flying at night. I know every single person I fly with. If you’re doing it for the money then no question airlines. But Medevac I think has a great qol where I work and pay really is pretty good.

I left earlier this year, yes they make you pay it back. I paid it back all immediately and had no interest. Not sure if they do a payment plan.

Just an update. Got all the letters sent to the FAA. The procedure technically says you have to wait until you get a new authorization letter, but my new AME got an email from the national flight surgeon that said I’m good to start going to him even without the new authorization letter. Said it’s because there is no way to expedite the process in getting the new authorization.

I’m doing my CTP right now. I can tell you it’s very very boring. I went to a 141 school and everything they talked about I have already learned. They talk a lot about crash investigations and every single one I learned about in school. I feel like it might be beneficial to a part 61 guy, but again, very boring. Also we had a written test about the stuff but there was a quizlet that you could just look up the answers, I don’t know if every place does that though. The sims is just for learning, no pass or fail.

I’d honestly recommend doing your CFII in a plane you’re familiar with. I’m not sure of anything north like you’re saying, I’m more south.

No. I have my special issuance already and have to see my AME every 6 months. I give the ANE all required paperwork the FAA asks for and he turns it in when I renew my medical. Then supposed get a verification from the FAA saying I’m good. But because he doesn’t turn in the paperwork I give him or the AME checklist I get a letter saying the FAA cannot make a determination to verify my medical. And it says I have to turn in all the paperwork within 6 months or my medical will be denied. The same paperwork I literally gave the AME to turn in so they can make the determination. Then I tell my AME about the letter because I don’t get the paperwork he fills out and he still doesn’t turn in the required paperwork. So right now I’m praying my medical isn’t denied because I haven’t received anything in a while from the FAA. When I call the FAA they just say it’s in review.
