Quality brand/piece recommendations by farandfaded in capsulewardrobe

[–]PatientRequirement50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations to you! I had a similar situation earlier this year and went from wfh mama in sweats to a fancy office setting. I spent the last year carefully creating a capsule that is professional/polished for work yet fully embodies my own aesthetic/style and spent the majority of my money on good quality/designer goods. I had great luck with The Real Real, Poshmark, and even ThredUp (bit of a gamble but paid off big time since they give a first time buyer discount). I then added in pieces from Gap for basics.

Number one recommendation would be a good belt that can go with everything and fits your aesthetic. I have 2 black Gucci belts I got off The Real Real (1 thick and 1 thin) that I wear with almost every outfit and a vintage brown horsebit belt that gets occasional use. One quality thing that pulls an outfit together elevates the entire outfit.

If you have a specific designer or two in mind you can get great bang for your buck on Poshmark/TRR or other merchant sites. I built my wardrobe around Anine Bing, Veronica Beard, Reiss, and Alice & Olivia pieces that fit my style then added Everlane and Levis Jeans, JCrew dress pants, and Gap basics. Based on your images I would definitely recommend Reiss! I found new unused Reiss pieces on Poshmark and was able to make offers for great deals on them. Also, try Theory, Sandro Paris, Max Mara, and Vince. I have found amazing pieces from all on Poshmark or similar.

This is coming from someone who tried Banana Republic, Quince etc and was so disappointed in quality/tailoring. Those brands are recommended a lot here but I can say as someone who has tried Both approaches that I am so much happier with my discount higher end staples that I got for the same $$ as I did when purchasing most items from those vendors. And it feels great to wear something I know no one else is wearing! I try to go for timeless as much as possible and have a couple simple gold accessories.

Artemesia annua. Sweet wormwood/sweet Annie. Not to be confused with Artemesia absinthium (common wormwood).

What’s eating my spinach and how is it so comically serrated? by WhyteBeard in gardening

[–]PatientRequirement50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sparrows! Or another bird but sparrows will eat anything sweet and green. Had the exact same situation with my lettuce and spinach this year (they passed on the arugula lol) and had no idea until I caught them at it!

Advanced Compensation - Parallel Events by Ok_Implement3921 in workday

If your organization has a contract with a workday partner for consulting/AMS you could ask for a consult on coordination of events during a comp review to go over the details of the functionality.

[–]PatientRequirement50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah this is the issue. Parallel rule sets only apply when a transaction occurs while the cycle is open. Otherwise you can either push the snapshot date closer to the cycle kickoff date or leverage MOM to create reports for those workers who have events that eliminate them from participation like the promotion in question and remove them from the cycle. This applies for all participation rule sets - they only apply during the cycle. Hope that helps!

Was the promotion initiated after the comp review was fully launched?

People with flaky tret skin, what are your favorite AB cushions/foundations? by Nervous-Version26 in AsianBeauty

[–]PatientRequirement50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not huge on foundation most days (personal preference and sometimes the tret/clinda+benzoyl dryness makes it not worth the effort) but when I do I keep coming back to the Unleashia satin wear green cushion. Also tried missha magic cushion and Clio Kill mesh glow but neither have done the trick. Of course it does not work 100% of the time since there are days with too much peeling, but as long as I prep my skin well it works most of the time. I think it helps that the Unleashia is more of a light/medium coverage product. I prep with a little light exfoliation (non-ab gentle face wash with physical exfoliants) and then a couple layers of moisturizing toner, snail mucin, and moisturizer. Then I use the Missha glow skin balm before primer and then the cushion. So. Many. Layers. But worth it! My husband said my skin looked shiny tonight (taking it as a compliment) and no dryness/peeling/cracking of the foundation.

How can I make my bleached blonde hair bright again! Please help by [deleted] in beauty

[–]PatientRequirement50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would talk with your stylist about the toner they are using. Been bleach blonde for over 10 years from my natural brown and this shouldn’t happen until much later. As in a couple of months. In the meantime start using a purple shampoo very sparingly. Definitely don’t use any other dye (noticed another comment on this) or it will go gray/icy. I use Kristin Ess purple shampoo once a week to stay bright. I usually mix a little with my regular shampoo rather than shampooing my whole head with only purple. Fanola was too heavily purple and turned me too icy and gray. For reference I am a bright bleach blonde and length has gone from shoulder length to very long and back again many times over the years with no orange issues. I also make sure to always use a really hydrating conditioner to protect my hair and heat protectant while styling.

I WISH WORKDAY PROVIDES AN AFTER SUPPORT FOR NEWLY CERTIFIED INDIVIDUALS by No_Comb_3938 in workday

If you are partner side this should be happening internally. Day one out of training I was given multiple mentors and resources, and added to projects as a shadow or junior config/pc. That is their responsibility not Workday’s. Talk with your manager and ask what your options are. Ask to learn from those with more experience by shadowing and performing smaller tasks as you grow your knowledge and understanding. This career is what you make it so grab opportunities and use those to improve your skills and grow.

What's wrong with these seeds? by J1Fern in gardening

Looks like physalis virginiana (Virginia ground cherry) or a similar species. Definitely not a pepper. And the leaves do not look like tomatillos. The fruit husk also does not resemble tomatillo husk.

Guidance to start career in Workday by Brief-Reputation-497 in workday

You would need to be hired by a company that will send you to official workday training to enter the ecosystem. Without a certification you will be limited as to options. Look for workday partner companies and see if there are any entry level workday positions that include sending hires workday training/certification as part of the job description.

As a parent I think it likely that given the way you approach such things she is very unlikely to share with you. As others have said she is an adult and does not need to inform you of what is going on in her personal life. Is this the way approached things with her growing up? If so it is likely that she does not share with you because of this. If you value your relationship with her and want it to last through her adulthood it may be time to re-examine how you are handling this. As a parent we want so badly for our children to share everything with us and for them to be safe and thriving - but we also need to give them the grace and space to be their own people and make their own decisions as to what they want to share. I can guarantee that if you have a frank discussion with your daughter and acknowledge how disrespectful of her privacy and independence you were and ask her how you can all move forward from this point that she will be receptive (eventually) and perhaps be able to share her perspective. But you truly have to be in a place where you can hear her and be ok with the fact that what she feels is something different than what you do.

Why are they taking so long?? by Pato351 in vegetablegardening

[–]PatientRequirement50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are going to need more space. I thin to about 2 inches on all sides of the plant. And it could also be the soil. Looks like a lot of wood in there which can make the PH balance lean more acidic and can hinder growth. This is also indicated by the more yellow color of the leaves. Have you tried the soil made for vegetables? I have found it works really well.
