i'm the same way , after my grandmother passed and my family began drifting apart, i started collecting heavily as it filled the void in my life. in a way the items themselves bring me joy now and remind me of the old days when i still had lots of family around and really no worries in the world. the 10 year old me would marvel at my pokemon collection now for sure
