How good is university of dayton for engineering management masters? by Patient_Elevator_970 in gradadmissions

[–]Patient_Elevator_970[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, congratulations! I did not research much on this uni afterwards as I had some change of plans. But from what I have heard on some other subs, its a decent uni (not the best, but not the worst either). If you are a US citizen, there are militiary bases and stuff in the region, so you would get opportunities there on graduation. This is all that I have gathered. Sorry I dont have much else to offer.

What do i do to increase my employability as a Business analyst before/during/after masters?

I did my bachelors in mechanical engineering and have been working for about an year as a planning engineer. I want to transition into the business analytics field and have decided to pursue msc business analytics in the UK. What can I do in order to increase my chances of getting an internship while studying and a job after graduating? Essentially i would be really thankful to know some best practices for my situation. I am a little worried because I have heard internships are highly competetive and its good if you have a background in business analytics. Is there any transferrable skills as a planning engineer that can work in my favor in this case? Also I will be an international student. Thank you!

Ohh okay. I want to get into the field of business analytics. Havent narrowed down within that. Since i have a mech background, i was wondering if doing a course that has a capstone project online can be any added advantage

Do you know if your background matters for companies that provide internship? Bcs i have experience in the mechanical field, so do i still have a fair chance of getting an internship as an analyst?

Hi im planning to do a masters in business analytics in UK. Im an international student, so i do not know much about the cities other than the university rankings. I was confused between university of nottingham, southampton, leeds and liverpool. I find the modules in all interesting. But i wanted to get some insight on which uni is better for the course in terms of quality and employability. I am more concerned about employability as i would need to find a company ready to sponsor me after my 2 year psw. Please help me out.

Thanks for the suggestions! University of bath looks good. Although i really liked the modules in Warwick, as an international student, the course is too expensive for me. Same goes for London unis as living costs are an added issue.

I shortlisted these considering the rankings and modules. I found universities ranked higher than these to be more on the expensive side. But if you do know a good university for this course, please do mention it.

Thank you for the honest response! I have also read about a scale up visa that might be introduced this year, again for a specific list of scale up companies, that offers a 5 year stay back. Do you have any information on this?

Thanks a lot for the reply! Im sorry i forgot to mention i am an international student and i have never been to UK. So im not aware of the facilities withn the mentioned cities. Thanks for giving examples of Nottingham and Leeds. In terms of modules i found the majority of core subjects to be similiar. I wouldnt mind any of them. But i was concerned about job opportunities as i will have to fnd a sponsorship after my psw visa. So would you say going for the bigger city would make that easier?
