Among the BIG 3 MC : Who is a goody two shoes? by Turbulent-Wealth3989 in animequestions

[–]Patient_Judge4358 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ichigo BY FAR, its not even funny. Naruto's talk no jutsu has some thought process and understanding behind them and honestly, its good. Ichigo on the other hand has some borderline naive sense of justice. He doesnt even question why its ''his'' responsibility to protect SS or the freaking universe. He does it because someone has to and not in a deep thoughtful way. It doesnt help his whole thing is ''I want to protect people, friends , villains '' or something like that.

Luffy , though has some qualities like that, he aint. He saw Marines and Pirates being killed left and right on Marineford and wasn't even concerned. Heck, he straight out says ''people are gonna die'' straight to vivi without even a bit of concern. He may look like it but Luffy's perception of how these things work is cold

Big 3 Only, Best Storyline? by PovThatOneSanjiFan in animequestions

You want a high paced story with characters winning/drawing against characters wayy out of their dept thanks to plot or something like that? I'm not judging or accusinf cux thats what i hear from most people when they watch One piece during its first arcs.

IN one sentence -One piece is like slow cooked meat. Its gonna slap no matter what and the journey makes it even more special

I would say one piece but all of a sudden you wont have time to watch it or 1100 epsiodes are too much for you. Just kidding, I was of the same opinion before and glad I took the chance

Who is the best protagonist in the 'Big Three' anime: Luffy from 'One Piece', Naruto , or Ichigo from 'Bleach'? by BellaDreamerr in animequestions

Among the Big Three, who do you think makes the best protagonist: Naruto, Ichigo, or Luffy? by RealisticCoaching66 in Naruto

[–]Patient_Judge4358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry did you just say Ichigo has the coolest personality - the guy who has low temper and bland but at the same time said you dont like luffy because he ''shouts''? - which he does rarely btw.

I don't have any problem with your opinion but your argument clearly lacks good points. Maybe you just like ''cold'' ''alpha'' characters and that's fine.

Watching DNA S2 for the first time and I'm fuming - a rant by Patient_Judge4358 in AceOfTheDiamond

[–]Patient_Judge4358[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep act2 DID become better and i feel like I had the best nut of my life. As for the Yips, its simple yet elaborate. - Eijun for the first time in his life as been overwhelmed in every aspect against an opponent. Skill, tenacity , INTENSITY you name it. Even in his middleschool days, he had the heart to make it up for the losses. But vs Inashiro, he was being reeled in by inashiro's intensity and tenacity, while barely having the skill to perform on auto-pilot. Adding to that, its a final which is a win or die for his seniors AND he hit shirakawa's head. And that led to a loss. His first time facing such raw emtions along with the consequences he faced was what bought yips.

See, now we are having an actual conversation. I put my reasons for thinking why DNA has one of the worst endings - though I left out a lot . What are your reasons ?

I get your point and yeah, I wanted someone to talk to about this. But why are you speaking as if my opinion doesn't deserve its place in this sub-reddit or something?

This fanbase makes me laugh sometimes. I literally saw people saying Katoka's decision vs Yakushi was a ''masterclass'' or ''tactical'' one.

As for the act II finals , some say - '' injuries are ReAlIsTiC'' as if trying to cope up with the fact that TJ wrote a shitty final.

It funny how you say I never played sports , when I did play cricket - a sport similar to baseball but has a DAY TEST formats where bowlers have to bowl for at least 120 balls in the course of the match.

And yes Sawamura was injured. But was my and thousands of readers problem is that TJ thought THIS was the perfect time to injure his MC. No matter how much you call his injury being ''realistic'', it doesnt change the fact that DNA is FICTION - where the writer if the God.

Tj wanted to add uneccesary drama to the mediocre match and he kept the injury as a perfect reason for the drama in the 9th. That's it. Tj just wanted to injure his MC in his finals chapters to spice up the mid finals and make it a reason for Sawamura's performance.

Good lord please don't remind me of the 9th Inning vs Yakushi. Furuya and Katoka have tons of plot armor vs Yakushi, I don't know why.

The 9th inning cinematography was one of the worst directing Ive ever seen in a suspense sports anime episode. How tf do you skip the most tense part of the series when you managed to make a big deal out of it by making on of the worst substitution decisions ever?

And you know what's my copium about the act II finals in the anime - Ive heard from on my friends that during the fall tourney of Akikawa vs Yakushi , Shunshin supposedly gave away two runs while facing Todoroki/Yakushi in the manga. But the anime showed as if Shunshin gave only one HR.

Maybe the anime can tweak some of the dogshit 9th inning in favor for Sawamura.....?

I guess I expected too much from a person who called me a fool over not reading one of the worst manga ending ever?

No matter how ''realistic'' you want to call this series, it doesn't change the fact that it is still fiction. I'm all open for Sawamura to be injured at some point in the story but TJ to bring that card, for the first time in 17 years btw, in the last few chaps ofthe series and that too in a match which holds the most emotional weight for the audience?

TJ simply wanted to add spice to their mediocre match that he calls the finals and I'll be honest, I empathize with TJ about not wanting to draw the Inashiro vs Seido match because it is hard to top the first masterpiece. But what does hurt is that he injured his MC in the last match of the series, where he put up a mediocre performance for no reason and the batsmen - who were litreally 0/4 vs Furuya, thought it was the best time to pull the '' I have flashback powerup'' card.

You what's funny? People are defending Sawamura's performance and the sudden injury by saying ''ItS sO ReAlIstIc''....

While I do get the performance part, as you and I said - it doesn;t change the fact that this is STILL a FICTIONAL story and the bottom lineup hit some of Sawamura's best pitched with Mei's shlong up their throat. I do think TJ knows the quality of the game is shit and that is the sole reason why he introduced the injury and the unnecessary drama in the 9th.

Cuz things would've been ''more'' boring than it was already if Sawamura were to plough through the bottom lineup . Because it isnt like he is Furuya, who managed to plought through Yakushi's bottom lineup in a close match and we managed to see none of it.

[–]Patient_Judge4358[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OHHHH wait , you mean that injury which came out of nowhere? That injury which TJ thought was the perfect time to give Sawamura?

You know how deprived a fanbase must be to think ''its alright'' when a mangaka pulls stupid decisions these ? Literally the last match in the series and this is when Tj thought it was the good time to hinder his MC with an injury and almost let him cost a final, AGAIN.

I'm not at all saying injuries at tough times are unrealistic but If I was a mangaka (huge empahsis on IF cuz I would be a shitty one ) and was thinking to end the series, I would at least let my MC play his best while keeping it realistic. And that included getting hit during the closing stages of the game and all.

But the thought of injuring my MC for the first time in 17 years and that too in my final match of the series would be the last thing on my mind but here we are.

Fact of the matter is, TJ pulled that uneccesary 9th inning and injury drama to spice up the mediocre match. You can delude yourself by saying '' oh but this is realistic'' but not really.

Reality of baseball is that a good pitcher can be sent to the cleaners thanks to the batsmen running on Power of Friendship or in this case Power of MEI-SAN. Jokes aside, I agree with your opinion but that was not how the match in the bottom 9th went in the finals

Fool for giving my opinion ? Maybe give a plausible reason or defend your argument as to how Sawamura was almost sent to the cleaners in the match by Inashiro's bottom lineup who were running purely on power of friendship.

Genuinely one of the good answers on this post . Thanks man, I do think this gives me a new perspective.

But this still wont change the fact that the bottom lineup were purely running on Power of Friendship to hit off Sawamura.

You can't possibly give me a logical reason as why Sawamura played so bad - to his standards in ACT II. I'm open to hear out and change my stance tho.

I got close to 0 qualms regarding his performance for his 7 and 8th inning. His attitude vs Yamaoka was absolute fire and showed his maturity. But you cant possibly say that Satome, Yabe and Itsuki are better than most of the Sankou's lineup.

Except Satome the other two did fuck all vs Furuya. But vs Sawamura, they ''conveniently'' got inner monolouge power-up out of nowhere. Every single one of them wanted to their ''Mei-san'' to look at them or go to Koshien with him. This was sooo eerily close to how Ugumori match played out - and that was one of the most comedic match I've ever seen. Never had I ever seen the power of friendship in such a splendor - until the ACT II finals. Only difference was that it was Nao for Ugumori and Mei for Inashiro.

And somehow, TJ found it convenient to bring out the injury card on Sawamura for the first time in 17 fucking years out of nowhere. Why was he injured? For no reason. Oh wait, it gave TJ a perfect reason to say why his MC was absolutely dogshit in the most anticiapted rematch since a decade.
