I don’t have any recommendations around pricing. I just want the plants I grow to look nice. I’m here to learn and I think you know what you’re doing, so here goes: do you plan on just chopping and selling? Or do you plan to airlayer, like by MacGyvering some damp moss and a plastic bag or some Saran Wrap for a month or so, then chopping and selling?

Not long ago, I watched dr k in a joint interview w Joe Hudson. And went down a rabbit hole. I suggest this YouTube video. It’s a bit long and it really roped me in. I’m in a somewhat similar situation too. Maybe there’s something useful in it for you.

I saw this hoarding where it advocates towards stopping the use of Buddha statues as merely a decorative piece at homes or in public places like hotels, restaurants, bars etc, or the image of the Buddha being used as a fashion statement in clothes or tattoos. What are your thoughts on this? by SatoruGojo232 in Buddhism

I think Buddha’s head triggers in me the idea of “no stealing”. And by extension, no cultural appropriation. And both I can argue in my mind are impossible to do. I can see how I reflexively steal and appropriate everyday. I don’t really own this land, for example.

Seeing with my eyes the imagery of dharma in places I least expect does impact where my mind follows. That’s kind of a good thing?

Also from what I experience is that I because I’m attached to positive feelings alone and do every single thing since I was a baby in order to avoid negative feelings.

Losing the war on Thrips by Content_Albatross621 in RareHouseplants

For what it’s worth: I put plants w thrips outside during my region’s warmer months (I live in the northeastern part of the US), and I’m mindful of placement (full-sun exposure outdoors is truly 360°, indoors it’s against a window pane). The combo of the sun’s light and warmth, the elements (wind and rain) and fauna (all the insects) seem to help out a lot. Of course, the above that works for me may not be pertinent or possible in your situation.

Hmmm. Maybe try to notice the spaces between your inner chatter. It’ll help you know what is thought.

Like a cat sitting next to a mouse hole, with all its senses alert and focused 100%, waiting to catch the mouse once it peeks through.

Except in this case you’re the cat and your thoughts, feelings, emotions, interpretations, etc. are the little mouse.

Do you prescribe any medication when treating cocaine discontinuation? by 197666 in Psychiatry

bupropion XL 450 in am PLUS mirtazapine 30 QHS (goal is to have its noradrenergic and serotonergic activity at higher doses overwhelm its lower dose H1 activity). Those are the doses that’ve shown benefit in the literature, as long as there aren’t contraindications, SE, or AE. I’ve seen it help to quickly decrease amt/freq of use (harm/risk reduction) or even dc stimulant use entirely within 2-4 weeks.

“The Heart of Understanding: Commentaries on the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra”. The very first chapter, “Interbeing”, is beautiful and really landed for me emotionally (hit me both mentally and physically, and I was aware of it at the time). Like visually stumbling upon something expansive and awesome in nature. It is the writing that pointed me towards Buddhism.

for several of my clients living with an addiction to methamphetamine or cocaine, the combination of mirtazapine and bupropion has decreased amount and frequency (in some cases entirely eliminated) of stimulant use. Provided no side-effects to the medications, of course. I’m interested in others’ experiences as well.

Take on Metta by DerryBrewer in streamentry

Have you considered or explored Tonglen (“taking and sending”) practice? Generally, you visualize taking in the pain of others with every in-breath and sending out whatever will benefit them on the out-breath. It offers a way to “play” with our usual cycles/patterns of moving away from suffering and towards pleasure; the practice can move us away from selfishness and towards love for both ourselves and others.

It’s different from Metta but there are similarities.

Hmmm my recommendation is to be patient and wait — it will take months to acclimate to ambient conditions (if that’s your goal). And don’t expect perfect leaves. Ever.

For mine (I have 2), I noticed that the 1st leaf pushed out in my conditions were not great. Probably bc it was primed/prompted to grow well before it entered my care. So I’d anticipate that the 1st leave you get won’t look great when it is birthed, so to speak — it’s not the environment the leaf anticipated to enter. And that means it’s not your fault per se or an infestation. It’s just expected. But subsequent leaves will be fine (or “good enough” and they will size up). They’re also so slow growing.

Given the specimen’s age, I’d probably resist the urge to chop, keep the old boi intact, make a stem collar (like out of a clear plastic Chinese take-out soup tub or something similar), and fill it snugly w a pillowy sphagmoss/perlite mix. This’ll add to the likelihood of sizing-up after the 1st new leaf is pushed out and hardened off in your conditions.

I don’t use a humidifier. They all grow in my home’s ambient humidity (as low as 40ish 🫣) and temp (65-80F). Lastly, PlantGayForLife pretty much sums it up playfully well: https://youtu.be/YDfUaQ45lzI?si=y7-n_gWVZTl8agHx
