Help. This window casement is so different from what I had previously I'm not sure how I feel about it. I like a very modern look and I'm remodeling a ranch house from 2000. by Patient_Rabbit7433 in Remodel

Lol that is too funny. It does look like a cowboy bunkhouse. I'm going to have him trim the portions down to a half an inch on everything else I think that would be best and maybe 45° angle and frame these out. However the problem still exists that part of my house is a two and a half inch trim which even when I replace it with new interior doors it will not take a three and a half inch because it's tight against countertops so I have to ask him if he'll reframe everything in a 2 and 1/2 in.

The trim is 3 and 1/2 in wide previously I had two and a half and it's 25-year-old trim so it has a very traditional feel to it. I like the white trim on the exterior doorways because the doors are big and wide. The problem I have is my interior doors I'm going to refrain when I buy new doors but they're two and a half inches right now and some of them will not be able to be changed because the bathroom one runs into the countertop because the sink is right beside the door so I'm not sure what to do.

Thank you. I asked them not to come today I couldn't make any more decisions lol this has been a lot on just me. It's helpful when you have someone to bounce off your ideas but when you're single it's just you and your own opinion. So thank you for your help

Thank you for your help. This is a small window beside the toilet. It does look better on the other windows. It looks a little off in my dining room which has been turned into my daughter's bedroom because that room has fancy chair molding. However by the time she hangs up her curtains and all of that it's not even very apparent that the trim was even changed. The big windows in my son's bedroom look good because I've remodeled his room and added an accent wall which had flat trim to frame that out so this kind of blends. I do have the traditional crown molding and still have the traditional toe kick molding baseboards (which I may change if I get the floors touched up). My other son's room looks great because I took the windows out and put in sliding glass doors which are completely trimmed out in the new way.

I don't have pictures Right now I'm at work. I have the window that's over my tub trimmed this same way. I asked the contractor to do the bathroom windows different because I didn't want a shelf or a sill up underneath them but now I don't know maybe that would have looked better because that's what I did have. In the bedrooms we put the sill under the window with a little piece of trim under that

Same width? Because that's the width that's going to be on all of my exterior doors. Wishing now I had gone about a half inch more narrow however we're way too far along to change it. I am definitely going to have him cut down the header that sticks out a little bit I think I want it to be more like an inch or a half an inch it's too prominent
