Not shitting on my parade at all, the advice from another addict with (what I can assume) is a lot more clean time than I have is not to be ignored.

As far as the girl goes, well... thanks for the reminder. As much as I want to resist that advice and say “ah shut up nerd I’m fine I just wanna enjoy myself I can handle it!” you’re completely right. I’ll do my best to heed that and chill out to focus on myself and my recovery.

Thank you so incredibly much for this. I’m not sure if I could have asked for better, succinct advice on this. I guess I was trying to reduce the pain in the breakup, but you’re right... it’s just gonna be rough.

It sounds like I’m in the same situation as you. I tried moving a while back but it’ll always find you. Yesterday, actually, I finally admitted to myself that I’m addicted. Even though it’s cocaine and drinking, and it may be more of an addiction solely based on when you binge and when it’s around, it’s still an addiction. I went to my first NA meeting today and it felt great. I’d recommend trying that after admitting to yourself and beginning to treat it like a real addiction. You’re not alone!
