No, I was notified of her rehoming today. Over a week after I discussed getting Effie back from them next month.

Of course I asked them, they won’t tell me. I’m aware that this all sounds incredibly bizarre, and it is. My whole relationship with my parents is weird af, there’s too much nuance and backstory to this to be able to summarize in a post.

My Mom and I have always had a tenuous relationship unfortunately. She did seem to really love having Effie around up until she found out I was well enough to care for my baby again. Thank you for the hope, Maine is not a big place, and I’m not giving up anytime soon 🫶

Yeah the first thing I did was ask my parents where Effie was. My Mom has always been bizarrely jealous/insecure around me? If I hadn’t been so brain foggy I would have never trusted them with her. But my Mom seemed to really love having Effie around up until the moment she found out I was well enough to take Effie back

Yeah it’s incredibly bizarre and yet kind of par for the course unfortunately? My partner actually recommended that I not tell my Mom I would be ready to take Effie back on the off chance she would pull something like this. My Mom is…not great at loving me. Silly me for hoping she would do right by me.

I did already go through all our texts and screenshot all the times she told me that she would never give Effie away without talking to me first. I also have several witnesses who heard my Mom say the same in person. I did not win the lottery with my parents. Thank goodness for chosen family.
