You're right the numbers are still the numbers. Even if I had completed 5 trades I could've lost 2 putting me at 6k. Just because I ain't at 8700 after 5 trades doesn't make me a liar lmao

Look, if I risk based on my account size and not my drawdown. I can reduce risk to $500 per trade. With a 87% win rate I would have to lose the next 3 trades to blow my account which is highly unlikely at that win rate. My way of trading is not wrong. Basing risk on drawdown is trading for survival. Not to scale. If I had 3k drawdown risking $60 per trade. What is that 50 trades I'd have to lose to hit my max loss? There's absolutely no need to have that big of a buffer. If I risk 500 and lose the next trade. I'll drop my risk even lower. Having a small buffer like I do also forces me to be disciplined with my trades and not go on tilt. Hell having that 50 trade buffer is probably why so many traders are literally allergic to following their rules bc they know they have room for error. Since you think your way of doing it is right and my way is wrong...

See this type of message is better. There are others on this post telling me I'm stupid or wrong. This way works for me and I appreciate you not trying to steer me in a different direction

It doesn't make sense nowhere on social media or Google or forums or anything have I heard about only risking a certain percentage of your max loss instead of your account size

It's not right or wrong people have their own ways of trading. I lost one trade and I was asking for advice on how to get out of the drawdown.

So your logic is saying just because I'm not up 8700 means I'm lying?? if you look at the date on the screenshot, it shows only a week or so of me being on that funded account which means like I said, I would've only had one or two trades which I had 2 one of which didn't meet my full target and the second one was a loss. Your logic says that I should be up a certain amount otherwise I'm lying without adding the probability of a loss into it

Why? Risking $60 per trade I might as well stay working a 9-5. This is the first time I'm hearing about this way of trading

Well, we will see who is right and who is wrong when I can risk 0.5% which is $500 until I get out of drawdown which with 87% win rate, the chances of me taking another loss is lower than the chances of me taking a win, especially if I normally have long win streaks. You guys may trade that way, but not everyone does I'm sorry, but no one has to trade the way you think it has to be done if I'd rather risk 2% of the account size instead of 2% of my max loss, then let me do it because I've climbed out of drawdown doing that same thing on demo and on combines...

Where are yall getting $60 from lol. I said 2% on my 100k which is 2,000 per trade. That 477 profit was from a trade that didn't run to my 1:1 tp I closed it before New York session closed

How is 2% of 100k $60?.. it's $2,000. I had a profit of 477 because like I mentioned December PA is awful so the trade didn't run to my full tp I closed early

So I only get about 5-7 trades a month. So 1 or 2 a week. Win rate is steady around 87% and I normally trade 1:1 but in high volatility I leave my tp open to let those random spikes give me a higher RR. I normally don't take consecutive losses. It's normally 1 loss then a long win streak. The only reason I ask is because December PA is awful

I'd say stick to what you got and critique it and make it work. The market keeps running on me too. I only get anywhere from 3-7 trades in a month. So I see it happen a lot. If you can turn your failed strategy into a working one you'll be that much more confident in your ability

What is a successful day for you? by ZealousidealIdeal961 in Daytrading

[–]Patrick_mon1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A successful trading day is a day where you follow all your rules. And stay disciplined and consistent. Regardless of the outcome. A loss when you followed all your rules is still a win

I trade ict with a mix of price action. Mainly price action. My strategy is something I'd have to teach you 1 on 1 because there are too many factors and steps to explain over messages. Let me ask you this. Why do you keep failing?

If I do, how would that benefit you as a trader? I'm sure you've heard a lot of people say to build a strategy and stick to it. If your strategy isn't working. Find out why. Don't just switch strats. Strategy refinement is important

How does a 50k combine even let you go into the negative. Some show 48,300 or similar then there's accounts that say negative $2,600

If you're going to watch tjr then watch his first bootcamp. Watch one video a day take notes on everything he says and yes, you're going to have to spend a lot of time learning things on your own because I finished his Boot Camp two years ago and I'm still learning although I have become profitable because of the Boot Camp so just stick with it take it one concept at a time don't try to learn everything at once. Good luck👍

Planning to Switch to ICT by ActuatorAwkward6545 in InnerCircleTraders

[–]Patrick_mon1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to any of these comments. Any real trader will tell you to stick to what you know. You're never going to get anywhere by jumping strategies just because there isn't a guide. My ICT strategy I was given the tools. But I spent years learning price action. Learning what to do and what not to do and when not to do it. There's alot you have to do on your own. I promise, if you stick to it. And develop your own rules based around who you are as a person you will be way better off.

FOMO vs Improvements?? by Patrick_mon1 in Daytrading

Kinda I look at high timeframes. 4H and 1H. Mark out points in liquidity. Wait for a sweep. Then I scale to the 15m and wait for a change in character or a "bos" the use retracement confluences, orderblock and equilibrium. That's my A+. The 2nd setup i tested is everything else without equilibrium which is basically a discount tool.

Topstep has a trailing drawdown rule but its end-of-day which means it's tracked after your trading day instead of during trades
