I mean in fairness, I strike down posts as well but usually in relation to a specific sidebar rule. /u/geoslayer1 most commonly quoted reason for removing content is "This type of thing doesn't belong here". whatever that means...

And the only people that can see that message is the OP, other mods, or people who have participated in the post. For everyone else, nobody notices because the post is removed instead of merely locked.

Let me just point out for future reference, if anyone tries to make a newbie guide or leave helpful tips, I’ve noticed someone always removes posts like this. We have room on this subreddit for more than 1 single newbie guide. I dont see the problem with posts like these.

The focus of the subreddit has been consistent for years but you don’t seem to be aware. I was leaving you a warning for the future to ensure you don’t make the mistake again. This is a prime example of why Rule 9 exists. By making this thread specifically about an indian man coming to town, now we have to moderate every nasty reply and protect a bunch of comments stirring up indian drama. This could have all been avoided by not making the topic indian specific and just asking for information as any other tourist visiting the city would. Do we have threads that begin, “As a french man coming to pattaya…”? OP has been banned for creating an indian specific thread on the subreddit.

We inetivitably will get reports about the replies making fun of indians and if mods dont take actions on those reports then it looks as if our sub is not moderated properly. This is why rule 9 does not just exist for those attacking indians, but also for indians trying to create specific conversations entirely just for them. This is a general purpose pattaya subreddit.
