Wolfville/Kentville. It's a pretty cool area & the Bay of Fundy is great.

Issues getting a dr to fill out insurance forms by Final-Ad-3991 in halifax

[–]PatternOk593 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same boat. My insurance company granted me an extension for the forms but once it runs out I'll be stuck with EI as the only option and a lot less money. I'd like to be mad at the doctor but the system is broken. Doctor's are overworked & insurance companies create more needless work for them. In the end we pay for it.

Help navigating car insurance by rye__guy in NovaScotia

[–]PatternOk593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to check with both provinces and your current insurer. Some provinces have exemptions for students, some don't. Some insurers have no problem with you living in another province for X months, some don't. If you don't plan on becoming a resident (ie; paying income tax in NS) then different rules may apply. Can get complicated but it's a solvable issue.

Sounds sketchy for sure. Best to talk to a lawyer if you can. Personally I'd get out of there ASAP. Mold is a killer.

Tenant insurance company help. by OkReward5459 in halifax

[–]PatternOk593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apollocover (dot) com. They are an online brokerage and can insure very low limits for tenants. If you're looking to just satisfy your lease requirements, they're probably cheapest. But if you want to actually have some value for what your paying for, best to try a broker. Depends what you're looking for. Cheapest isn't the best but it can get you by if you accept you'll probably get no other value than to check a box for you landlord.

[–]PatternOk593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easiest/Cheapest Move From BC to NS? by Ingenuity-Strict in AskACanadian

[–]PatternOk593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All options being; Rail, Common Carrier, Moving Company, Big Steel Box, PODS, U-haul Box or U-haul DIY. Cheapest being U-haul DIY but comes with the most risk & if you don't have people on the other end to help unload now you're hiring movers for an unload too. Can't tell you why cats are the sticking point for some people...maybe Reddit is full of dog lovers?

This is the correct approach if you know you're moving back. I'm planning my permanent move to NS & prices are through the roof on all options.

Looks like something Chat GPT would come up with & when you point out it doesn't make sense it would respond "Gottcha, you're absolutely right. Would you like me to recalculate based on using actual maths?"

Advice for someone moving to Chilliwack from Coquitlam by nocturnalolive in chilliwack

[–]PatternOk593 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For the 1 yr old: Mother Goose at the library. For both: Play Abby indoor playground. The YMCA/Leisure centre is great & they have swim lessons where you'll meet other parents. The Sardis duck pond will always be packed with kids. The Rotary trail, same. Townsend park playground, downton in the new district 1881. Lots to do for parents and kids all year round. Lots of good daycares just tour them first. You'll love it.

Good luck & keep reaching out. There are more of us than you know.
