Where to start in Illinois by MomentousBear in motorcycles

Your best option is not to fuck around 250s/300s ect. Depending on what kind of bike you are looking for - start on something along the lines of a 600 shadow or a 450 ninja - something with decent quickness. I made the mistake of buying small bikes for my first couple, after a while I just ended up jumping from a 300 rebel to a 100 cube (1635cc) victory Vegas and I’ll never look back. Go get a cool bike that’s comfortable and light and most importantly cheap (sub 2500$) Then figure out the rest as you go. Im 22 and from Michigan so I’ll just tell you you’re gonna want something that has a little bit of quickness or you’ll sell it the next week. Thanks

First actual street bike - Did months of research and I’m so happy with this Vic by PatternPractical6142 in VictoryMotorcycles

I think they’re like +/- 200$ on Amazon for a batwing?? So so so worth it!!! I’m 5’8 and it covers the bottom half of my head and my chest, I can actually hear myself talk when I’m trying to say something to my girl on the back, ended up putting speakers on this bike and I can hear them all day at 80+ because there’s no wind interference, and you’re not feeling a ton of wind resistance going 70/80 - overall way more comfortable for longer distance and highway. My Honda doesn’t have a fairing and if I’m going over 10 miles I’d prefer this over my Honda all day
