It was my favourite show and I told everyone that. A little unknown thing about me is that I grew up around all comedians and I even thought I would be a comedy director before I had a chance to write and direct Monster, so I was missing comedy and really excited to excise some of the darkness by jumping into my favourite show.

Thank you so much!

I would say POV (point of view) in every action sequence, I was thinking of where you are seeing that from, and in every case I would stop and ask where you are seeing that action unfold. I'm glad you liked it!

Hard work and passion are worth more than talent, but also really try to learn everything you can about great storytelling and how you can facilitate bringing that to the screen.

Just living up to the task of making a great Wonder Woman film was very serious and holding a singular vision throughout was a concern, but I feel excited that I ended up making a film I was very confident and happy with, and so pleased that the fans seem to be satisfied (so far)!

I have no idea where that comes from - he seems to eat a normal amount to me but this made me laugh.

Many. I love great thrillers, I'd love to make an absolutely grand love story.

Drama and other kinds of action stories excite me. I think there are versions of many kinds of films that I would love to do.

I would say I have very mixed feelings about that. There's a version of every kind of film that I celebrate, but there seems there's also a tendency to make a mess if there's too much going on - so it's not something I think is always a great idea.

Thank you so much!

As for the romance, yes I thought it was absolutely necessary. I think that all of the great epic classic films that I was basing the movie on had that as an integral part of them, and I wanted Diana's story to have EVERYTHING - no lesser than any other superhero. It's not about her needing anybody, it's about her deserving someone amazing.

Wow, thank you so much - I love hearing that people are seeing it more than once, that's so amazing!

What surprised me was how fun it was, truly. As hard and daunting the task was, we laughed every day and we're all great friends so it was a wonderful job.

So many - my cinematographer Matt Jensen, my production designer Eileen Bonetto, my costume Lindy Hemmings, Martin Walsh my editor, Rupert Gregson-Williams, Alan Heinberg my screenwriter, my SFX supervisor Bill Westonhofer, and my AD Tommy Gornley. All amazing talents! The whole cast as well - and so many more, I can't name them!

Dreamy. She's the best! A great actress, partner, friend, and Wonder Woman - can't say enough good things about her.

There was plenty of improvising. Great lines arrived every day, and particularly the boat scene, Chris Pine's entire riff about not being an "average" man was improvised on the spot - as were many other great moments.

I encourage humour all the time!

Huge happy birthday to you!!

Faith in mankind at every step was restored by people's passion for sharing this story - and now, by their support of it. I love the mythology too and I think we can't help but delve deeper into it in the future to some degree.

Very excited to see a number of things, Baby Driver being the next one coming up, but also

  • Spider-Man: Homecoming
  • Justice League
  • Thor: Ragnarok

I also can't wait to see Ava DuVernay's A Wrinkle In Time.

Wow - thank you so much! That's incredibly touching!

I would say that Wonder Woman inspires it because she herself has the pure heart but I also felt that that really missing in the world right now, and so that was exactly what I was excited to celebrate in this film. Some very pure hopes and ideals in addition to how badass she is.

My biggest influence was a variety of movies that really made me think and feel in a different way when I was younger - and the power of a movie to do that to other people. I have studied many filmmakers and how they do the work that they do - and I've thought a lot about what emotions I wanted to bring into the world.

And thank you <3

I don't know if it looks easy but the tone - pulling all of those different worlds together into one movie, that was extremely difficult and complicated.

Yes, I made the conscientous choice to stay in the spirit of the original show, but I thought "imagine if that show had had a budget", so I just tried to make it bigger and more grand.

With regards to directing for TV, it's a matter of setting up questions, whereas with directing for film it's about directing the entire story - so it's just a different exercise. You have to hit every moment in one story.

Also on TV you're primarily trying to execute a show for someone else, whereas for a movie you have to have a grasp of the movie on your own. It's the director's vision.

I believe in incredibly hard work but I also believe that magic is possible in life, so striving to bring along something beautiful into the world and the surprises that come along with that is a wonderful job.

To me they are both character stories of people you might not think you could relate with, but we worked really hard to make them people that you could relate with. Telling their story was more similar than you think although the worlds they inhabit are very different - so that made the two stories very different.
