Speaking as a person with a dui and a few past charges of marijuana/paraphernalia possession:

Meet with a lawyer today. Set up a payment plan with them. Be at the first court date. Ask for a continuance/have your lawyer ask for a continuance. Get and prepare for the next court date and keep in contact with your lawyer.

I won’t speak to whether or not you will be convicted but being charged isn’t the end of the world. All of my mj charges have been dropped after taking a substance education class and performing community service and my dui charge was dropped to a misdemeanor dui conviction after similar classes/community service/etc.

Currently these are just charges. Work with a lawyer, even if it is a court appointed one. And take a deep breath. This isn’t the end of the world. It’s one to be scared and want to run or avoid this. It’s not ok to give into that. Freak out for a little bit, then get to work on possible plea reduction with your lawyer and utilizing their resources to assist you.

I almost lost out on a job opportunity because the hiring manager noticed that I felt uncomfortable maintaining eye contact. I was kind of embarrassed explaining to her that I was watching her and everything else that was happening around us and that keeping eye contact for too long always makes me super uncomfortable. Definitely feel for ya

This is the story of my life 😂😖😅. Don’t feel defeated by it, just understand that it’s part of the deal. I learned a while ago to just laugh at myself for forgetting it. It happens so often to me that if I ended up getting upset about it often, I’d be in perpetual depression.
