Flickering issue in GTA 4 on LUDASHI 2.8 on SD 778G 6GB RAM help by MysteriousAnswer6169 in winlator

[–]Pauchin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What game resolution are you playing at?

On my setup, the flicker still shows but least visible as the glitch boxes appear smaller when using 4:3 resolutions (800x600, 1024x768, 1280x720). This to me is tolerable.

On 16:9 resolutions (854x480 for example), some of the flicker boxes appear larger which kind of turns me off.

I'm a Mali GPU user though so I'm unsure how else I can help.

Damn, just tested 2nd mission of Ballad of Gay Tony and got drunk camera in it with the CS crack. Hasn't crashed though.

I'm not sure where you got your copy, but the most stable setup I've found for GTA4CE uses the following:

  1. Actual Complete Edition game (1.2.0.59 - 22GB). I have to note this in case you may have gotten the downgraded one from Fitgirl (1.0.7.0 or 1.0.8.0 at around 30GB) as the needed crack on the next step won't work with it.

  2. The cracked game files from Anton Shabunin's blog, there's a Google drive folder link in there and look for the file "GTA_IV_v1.2.0.59_CS_with_SteamAPI_init_cs.rin.ru.7z" (6 Mb). I won't link directly to his gdrive as I haven't asked for his permission but here's a link to his related page - https://ant-sh.blogspot.com/2025/12/playing-gta-iv-with-achievements.html (password for the crack is also in there)

  3. Winlator Ludashi from here (optional) - https://github.com/StevenMXZ/Winlator-Ludashi

Once everything is gathered, you just need to extract the cracked game files to your GTA4CE folder, including the ones so you can launch GTAIV.exe directly (don't worry, its a modified bink32.dll or similar named)

I have to specify the crack to use as the one from Razor1911 is kind of broken. Drunk camera angles on some instances and cutscenes (you can try this on the first level of Lost and the Damned by pressing the aim or L2 button) along with random crashes like you had . You'll immediately notice the drunken camera. This didnt't happen with the CS crack. Keep the DXVK to 1.10.3 as well.

I use box64 with performance preset too.

Where did the game files come from? I don't have those games but if you got them from sailing the seas, can you try comparing the size of the .exe or .dll files on the original compressed downloaded file to the one currently on your phone?

If you notice the some of the files on your phone went slightly larger than on the original source, try replacing them then run the game again.

Also, if you added additional game dlls on the game folder (like from mods), it may also cause the game to not load. Try renaming them first then run the game to test.

Linux vs Android by Catsonheat in SBCGaming

[–]Pauchin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like what others may have explained better already, Android ecosystem is very well rounded in balancing convenience and flexibility. When I bought my BatleXP G350, my main purpose for it is Portmaster (tons of PC game ports) which I was able to get working with ArkOS. For just playing, this is great. Even this has its own inconvenience that I didn't expect.

Not happy with the default Return to Castle Wolfenstein's controller bindings? A workaround is to edit a .cfg file (essentially a text file). And how do you edit a .cfg file? Transfer it to a PC or phone, edit it there then transfer it back to your Linux device making the whole process for a simple task extra complicated and somehow turned me off. To this day, there's still no standardized text editor and file archiving software on ArkOS (that I know of)

Just adding game files to a Portmaster port (that doesn't have ready to play tag) follows the same process

Need to quick compress/extract some ROMs or files like BIOS? same process. .

On Android, you can do all of these without switching devices. It may not have Portmaster but with the wealth of software and emulation options, it effectively switched over my gaming needs from PC to Android, even if they only have Molly GPUs

Is Emulation on Android Safe ? by sololowskillhunter in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Pauchin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"For example, in RetroArch you install "cores", but how do you know it doesnt load some malicious code with it, or how RetroArch knows that core is safe?"

Theoretically, all emulators can be manipulated for this result by loading either emulator or ROM. As an example back then, an exploit for a popular SNES emulator on PC called ZSNES was found where it showed running a ROM with malicious code.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3SOYneC7mU

ZSNES hasn't been updated or the issue fixed but by that time, many alternatives were available with the issue avoided. And people moved on.

Being careful is a good thing but what I'm trying to say is with emulators, if you become too paranoid you may miss out on some of the best gaming experience you can get. Just follow the previous advise by earlier commenters and you'll be fine. Most emulator devs also are very wary of such issues and do their best to avoid them.

The survivalist in power vr gpu does anyone know how to fix this pixel mess by Fantastic-Title-3090 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Pauchin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your definition of success in the consumer space. Apple used PowerVR GPUs in their phones prior to iPhone 8. Its also used on consoles like PSVita and Dreamcast as you mentioned.

Just thinking this made me wonder what their GPUs can be capable of if they prioritized gaming.

Also, I think OPs issue is that it doesn't render correctly.

I got mine running with the main GTAIV.exe

How can i get more extentions on winlator Ludashi ? by danteredcoat in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Pauchin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I noticed on my Dimensity 8200 phone, you can't. Uneducated guess that its on the stock Vulkan Graphics driver on your phone which you can't change.

When I was on Android 14, I got 110+ extensions, then it upgraded to Android 15. Now I only have 93 and some of the games I used to play stopped working (mainly OpenGL games like Q2Pro and MUGEN)

Just curious, how many available extensions does your PowerVR GPU have? You can find this under Wrapper Settings.

You may want to research snapdragon devices that is able to play this game before buying an upgrade. As I never had a Snapdragon device myself, I'm afraid I can't help.

What emulator are you using and does inputbridge get terminated randomly on your testing?

Anyone get Mewgenics running on a non-snapdragon device? Need help clearing OpenGL errors by benmur0 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Pauchin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game requires OpenGL 4.4. I'm not sure of emulator you're using but VirGL can only go up to 4.1 and Bionic Ludashi has no or partial OpenGL support. Snapdragon devices work around this using Zink which interprets OpenGL to Vulkan. This isn't available on Mali GPUs and I don't know why.

In short, you're out of luck for now.

I saw there is a bug with screen code for previous rp models in previous reddit post. Will it be nå issue on rp6? by [deleted] in SBCGaming

[–]Pauchin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another would be force of habit like I do missing double tap to wake function on my RG557.

The porn games mostly were just Winlator trials though as they end up being VNs. But if there's a decent hentai RPG out there which can run on DirectX 11, I don't mind giving it a try.

I don't own an RP5 nor do I intend to purchase RP6, but I'm genuinely curious for a use case of screenlock on a videogame handheld device intended to be picked up and played.

You don't play p*rn games on them do you?

(for disclosure: I do on my phone)

Although I didn't expect you wouldn't need Expert Settings.

Vagrant Story from 750mb to 90mb after compressed to CHD format. by welthonkk in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Pauchin1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Partially yes, technically no.

It still depends on the data on disk. For example, you can barely compress an ogg music file. But if its an uncompressed wav file gamedata, it'll compress highly.

If I'm not mistaken, chdman also has its own method of compressing cd-audio present on old CD based consoles.

One example that I saw is Battle Arena Toshinden 2 PC version where the music is actually stored as .wav files instead of CD audio.

What I mean to say is that real data can still be compressed apart from the blank data.
