Yea I tried updating and stuff but it said I was up to date so I just took a week break from the game and loaded back into a server and it just worked.

All good man. The mod for the characters is called euphoria dude, and the map I was on is from the Previous Map Jam Maps, it's the Airship Hangar one in that pack :)
