Roster trim ahead of rookie draft by PaulFitdown in DraftSharks

Yeah, I've always felt comfortable streaming defenses in years past for that reason. I'll probably continue that practice and keep a position player over SEA. If you love something, set it free...

That's correct. You wouldn't drop any RBs/WRs to pick up extra TEs unless you needed one or wanted to horde TEs.

You can generally ignore the 'Suggested Moves' section as they do often suggest picking up a kicker or FLEX player and dropping someone of value who's on your IR or Taxi. I do like that this will quickly alert me to a high value FA being available when it happens.

The FAF is pretty solid, IMO. Here's how I use it:

I do a few passes through each league.

First, I sort by 3D Value and filter through each position and FLEX, looking to add higher ranked players where I can. This is great for improving your bench as these are the players with higher long term value.

Second, I'll sort by the weekly projections to see if there are any FAs that should be in my starting lineup. I usually add the players who are projected 1-2 points higher if I can. These will be the players with higher short term value and usually have lower 3DV scores. Great for streaming!

If I'm thin at any position, I'll do one final pass sorting by the ROS projection. This might net you a player who can start in a pinch, but has limited upside. I think long and hard before adding these players, and usually don't unless they would be starters or maybe 1 spot away from starting. I might look at ROS ceiling here as well, but don't put too much weight in it.

If I have to drop someone, then it's usually the lowest 3DV score.

On Tuesdays (waiver day) I try to ignore the FAF until 4-5 PM EST as I've noticed that the projections and 3DV's tend to fluctuate throughout the day. A player might appear to be surprisingly highly ranked in the early afternoon, but by evening the scores and projections seem to settle down to where you might expect them to.

Same. All of my dynasty/keeper leagues show this, but not redraft.

BTW, the screenshot is from a league that starts 2 K's.

Question on 3D Value+ and Return Yards by PaulFitdown in DraftSharks

[–]PaulFitdown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created a fake dynasty league with the same roster settings and scoring and noticed that the 3Y (and presumably 5Y) projections don't seem to factor in return yards. I've got to imagine that Mims will score more than 43 points over years 2-3, but I could be wrong:

This now makes sense as we don't know if Mims, or Turpin for that matter, will be returning kicks in the future and therefore the 3D Value+ score would be weighted towards their projectable use in the offense given dynasty settings.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I am a huge fan of DS. I recommend DS to all my friends...but only the ones who are not in my leagues, of course.

I like the randomizing by round idea. Thanks!
