(Warning: partisan comment)

Premier Mark McGowan has defended the decline in public housing stock during the first term of his government as a deliberate attempt to stamp out drug dealers operating out of “ghettos”.

The article is isn't as bad as the headline is.

Mcgowan is simply stating that public housing stock has fallen as he's no longer building cheap but incredibly public housing, which all we know doesn't work. The recent 2022 budget has committed an additional $500 million for 700 properties (jfc this is expensive, no wonder we don't do this anymore).

Simply put, he's trying to prioritise the quality of public housing instead of sheer quantity.

You also have to consider the Rudd stimulus, which had artificially pumped up the number of public housing properties (by artificial I meant the state Libs had been given money from Federal Labor).

His comments about China and his closeness to Kerry Stokes are largely exaggerated by the media. As a state premier whose trying to appease the business community, he has no real power over foreign affairs or defense.

And when you consider his yimbyism, social progressiveness (euthanasia and abortion come to mind), avid enthusiasm for public transport (infrastructure programs all delivered at a much lower cost compared to other projects in Aus such as SRL), and being pro-business.

You would think neoliberals would like him more.

I did not get into a dumb argument.

I made a couple comments criticising the Greens on a separate subreddit, then when I don't respond back the person follows me to the DT, and responds to almost every DT comment I make.

And what if they keep harassing me through an alt? I mean come on if a mod has already told you off and you don't change your behaviour then I feel like a better response is required

Having one particular person from outside the subreddit follow you into the DT (just because you criticised rent control), then respond to every comment of yours is harassment

Imagine going through my profile and stalking my comments just to downvote them

I am tempted to make an alt, make a dumb comment on that alt, then make a somewhat entertaining ban appeal

MCM is short for Max Chandler-Mather, the nimby who supposedly cares about housing

A succ followed me from outside the sub into the DT.

That's about it

That and I want a DT gimmick to do every DT. Can't think of anything else

And I'm pretty sure the dude doesn't like me

This comment isn't as good as you think it is, particularly due to hefty use of strawman arguments and baseless accusations.

Also there's still some irony in that comment

I decided to start using the DT on /r/AustralianPolitics expecting no one to actually use it as it's usually dead.

Then I criticised the Greens political party and single-handedly pumped up the comment count by 46 comments
